My family and I were in DC visiting my father in-law at the hospital right next to this restaurant. After hours spent in the hospital room, the family was hungry and I remembered seeing HalfSmoke on the corner. We decided to walk over and grab a bite.
Upon entering, we realized this was much more then a sausage joint. The atmosphere was dope and my family almost instantly felt better. We were a little confused at first but a young lady stepped over and guided us through the menu offerings and ordering process. All five of us chose different things so that we could try the full range of menu items. A gentleman joined the young lady when he saw the particular interest my son and I were paying to the unique grill setup. He explained what it was and the wood used, even gave us a short demo. My son was impressed, as was I. We finished ordering and sat down. Our drinks were delivered and we commenced a game of jenga. I kicked my kids butts and proceeded to take photos with them in the photo booth and finished just in time for our food to arrive.
Food was incredible. The bun for the halfsmokes was perfectly grilled. The ingredients were super fresh and the smokes had great flavor. Everything that hit the table was incredible. Service was remarkably friendly. We can't wait to go again. HalfSmoke turned our dismal day into a great experience. The kids immediately went back and told their grandfather all about it and it lifted his spirits as well.
Halfsmoke was the bomb great time nice location great food love the theme I will be back nice spot to hang with my ladies or my children or with hubby. Awesome expierence yesterday for my birthday five stars. The milkshakes were out of this world. I’m will be back all summer 18 I loved it music selection was on point five starts from me 🎉🎉🎉
If you need a vibe. Decent food. And hit or miss service come here.

The first server had a little bit of an attitude. The second was perfect. Attentive. Nice. Explained to us everything in an understanding and quick way. The bottomless mimosas deal is really good and has almost 10+ flavors.
Our first vase of water had something in it. Requested another. Other than that, the food was good, nothing special. My partner and I ordered the Netflix and chill. They have cool names for all the food.
We had no issues other than small stuff. The vibe was lit. Music was a little too loud for conversation, but it makes sense because it's more of a brunch/day party.
My sisters and I went here for brunch on Saturday. We had a reservation for 3 at 1130 and it took 15 minutes for our server to come by to take our orders. When the window for brunch is 90 minutes, that is unfortunate.
Our food was good, the music fun and we enjoyed seeing the music videos on tv while dining.
We had bottomless mimosas (pineapple, cranberry and strawberry), along with the dishes Bad and Boujee, WAP and Cash App Me.
Came here for my cousin’s birthday brunch and overall I must say I had a really good time.
It’s a really gorgeous setup and the overall design is stunning.
The drinks were amazing, my personal favorite was the “The Blacker the Berry”, highly recommend that one. What I had to eat was the “Oh you Fancy” which was basically the shrimp and grits with some sausage and OMG those grits were absolutely delicious 😋
The staff were extremely sweet and our server DJ was the absolute best.
The only minor issue I had was it wasn’t a super crowded and busy so the service was a little slow for a bit but all in all had a great time and would definitely come back 👏🏾
OMG where do I start the atmosphere was great we sat at the bar which was a great decision because the bartender was amazing and the people sitting at the bar was so friendly we really had a great time here. Now to get into this food! The food was to die for the menu theme was so fun! I'm not a pork eaters so I was excited to see that I had turkey a chicken options there was even something on there if you are vegan. We also ordered bottomless mimosas (try the peach) oh and they have this really cute VHS cases that they give you your ticket in. If you are ever in Washington DC definitely try this spot
We went for brunch, and the Food and service was good, but it was a little too loud inside for my tastes. I liked the music they were playing, but I do think it could have been played at a lower volume to really pull all aspects of the experience together. Good bottomless brunch though!
The food, drinks, and atmosphere is excellent.
The location is easily accessible to the Howard Metro station. There is paid parking behind the location which is shared with Howard University hospital.
Delicious! I had the turkey sausage, egg, and cheese on the best butter bread ever! That bread was so soft and moist. My sister had the crab fries and deviled eggs with shrimp, both were really good as well. Please note that the shrimp deviled eggs is actually shrimp salad, not whole shrimp, however, it was still yummy!
The atmosphere was fun, young college crowd. The service and beer were great. My "Dave Chapelle " chicken sausage was a little disappointing. They cut the link in half, length wise. I couldn't enjoy it like i wanted to. 🤷🏾♂️👎🏽
Fantastic brunch and the staff is very friendly. We were a little early and the kitchen was not ready but they welcomed us in and got us seated with drinks. Recommend the Staycation and the Cash Ap!
Let’s start off with the atmosphere. If you want to brunch hard, this is the place to do it. As soon as you walk it it’s got a lively atmosphere with the best music playlist of any restaurant I’ve been to. It was really crowded so definitely make a reservation if you plan to come here but they sat us quickly, but we got lucky. The drinks were pretty decent, typical prices for DC. The food was Tasty! Everything on the menu sounded amazing & all three of our meals looked simple, but the flavors were there!!! The service is slow but definitely because it was busy, servers were friendly & apologized for the slow service. 100% a fun brunch spot & tasty eats.
