For a rainy dinner hour on Monday, it was to be expected that most places would be on the empty side. But this getaway place shouldn't have been, because the food and service were respectively home-made delicious and honest. The dishes we ordered were recommended traditional ones and were overall satisfying especially because of the sauces! Perfectly reasonable place to grad some quick falafel from the Georgetown campus. In the end, it was the perfectly crafted almond caramel cake dessert that really stole the show! I don't even really like caramel and I am still thinking about this amazing caramel sauce...
Very good food. We eat there on July 3rd and the city was empty as everyone is traveling for the 4th of July.
I got a bit worried that the restaurant is empty and thought that food might not be fresh. I was so happy with my dish.
I ordered Couscous with lamb and my wife got the chicken lemon. Both were great.
Definitely recommended and we will go back soon.
Stumbled on this place and my friend and I were pleasantly surprised. We had some hummus which was served with a hot bread, both delicious. I had a lemon marinated chicken served with vegetable and rice, my friend had a lamb dish which he said was very good. service was good at 3-4 in the afternoon.
This is the most underrated restaurant in Georgetown. I can't believe this place isn't packed solid every night. It's actually 2 restaurants in 1 location: Ledo Pizza and Casbah Cafe. On the Casbah menu, I've tried the lamb shank that is melt in your mouth awesomeness served with cous cous that reminds me of tagines in France. Beef kofta, fattoush salad, hummus, falafel, etc., are all perfect too. I've also tried the chicken parm which hit the spot but really the Casbah menu is much better. And the prices are serious bargains for the area. I'm scared people will find out about this gem and I will have to wait in line.
The food was great. The spanakopita and the chicken tagine were absolutely delicious! Our waiter was attentive and grateful. Definitely recommend it!
I can't comment on the food because I was there on a date and we didn't order anything except drinks but the server was nice and patient with us since we were there until close to closing... we made sure to tip him very well... hope to be back soon and try the food
So far, I've tried the Baba Ghannouj, Couscous, Dolma, Tzatziki, Moussaka, and Falafel Sandwich. All were very, very tasty. The Couscous and Tzatziki are especially good - yum!
Incredible food, and good service. The food is also really cheap for it's quality. It has an incredibly local vibe. This is my favorite place to meet with friends.
Yummy food for the cheapest price you can find in the area. Great table service too. Try the chicken shawarma with garlic sauce.
People friendly and attentive. Lamb tangerine was excellent and plentiful, I took 1/2 home as a leftover.
