Authentic Indian food and one of the best Indian restaurant I have ever been to. All the best to the lovely family running this place.

We were introduced this place by our lovely airbnb host. Thank god! she did. It was literally 5 mins walking from the place. Food was decent. Nothing was overpowering. Only compain I have is portion size ;) It was small as comapred to other indian restaurant!

Wow, what a true gem in DC serving Thali style of dining in which one can select multiple options all served with Roti and rice. I had their non-vegetarian thaali, which lets one choose 2 meats and 3 veggie dishes. I would recommend their house specials of Tidura and Punjabi chicken, their Aloo and Paneer, and mango lassi (although their Masala chai is also delectable). Portion sizes were enough to leave one feeling satisfied but not overly fully. The owner was also very kind, providing us with a regular mango chutney and a pickled mango chutney. They have a lovely dining area with both indoor and outdoor seating!

The most amazing Indian food!!! We got the tikka masala, butter chicken and the samosa special. The flavors on everything was just so on point. The naan was soft and delicious. The spices and sauces all really worked well and that was the best jasmine rice I’ve ever had. The wait staff is so beyond friendly and made us feel so welcome!! Food was so abundant we took dinner home!!! So good.

Masala story has some great options for food. We liked mushroom curry , kadhi , egg plant . Parathas were decent too. Would like to see chapati or roti in a home made flavour. But DC area has a problem with good chapati, couldn’t find it anywhere Over all it’s a nice place to grab a bite or for take out.

As first timers visiting DC, we were looking for a unique place to eat and Masala Story had it all. The owner greeted us with kindness and even shared his favorite special Coke product from India. I got the Shrimp Curry with Potatoe Bread on the side and it was incredibly good. A substantial meal if you are looking for a great lunch and possibly leftovers. Very happy we chose Masala Story!

Good food at reasonable prices. I would recommend vindaloo (chicken/shrimp) and goat biryani if you are looking for non veg items, shrimp vindaloo was spicy. Thali is a great option if you are open to tasting more than 2-3 curries. The staff was friendly, restrooms were clean. However because of my personal bias, i didn’t like food serving style in a to go box. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting DC.

Great food - we especially enjoyed the special - lamb Kema biryani. Full bar and lots of options. For once no food photos - it smelled and was so delish that we scarfed it down too fast! We had no problem with food being served in Togo containers but metal silverware (versus plastic) for those eating in the restaurant would improve on the experience and let me even more enjoy the great and tasty food. Looks like most customers order to go (although we came here late on a week day so maybe more of a mix on weekends?).

Such a friendly staff! They gave us great suggestions of what to order for our first time visiting! Great indoor and outdoor space to eat, and the food was all delicious

Great food, friendly helpful staff! This place is like a cafe where you order at the front so you won't have a traditional waiter, but the staff is really friendly and happy to give you anything you need if you just ask. The food is delicious and I was really pleased to see the rice also served with some pindi chana, which I personally really like. We got our spice on the side and spiced up our butter chicken quite a bit but only spiced up our paneer dish (one of the specials I forget which one) a little and both were amazing and perfect. We just weren't sure what to ask for in terms of spice because we'd never been to this restaurant before so they just gave us our own spice and it worked out great! There atmosphere of this place is really chill and fun. There's Indian dance music videos playing and the interior is decorated in bright happy colors. It also seemed like a very kid friendly place. Everyone was smiling :)

I have been to this place a couple of times and it hasn't changed. Food still great! The owners still know me.
