Over the past 40 years I have eaten in the several restaurants that have occupied that building. I must say that this is the best restaurant to operate in 1039 31st St. The ambiance, the menu, and the attentiveness of the staff made for an absolutely wonderful experience. I would recommend Chez Billy Sud to everyone I know who cares about having a dining experience.
What an experience! Everything wa delicious. I never had an appetizer like the duck egg over toast with mushrooms in a Pinot noir sauce excellent as was our waitress/ server.
This is the ultimate date spot! The atmosphere is incredible. It has old-world, historic vibes, with hardwood floors, antique furniture, and brocade wallpaper. The service is also fantastic! Big shout out to Hernan, who was amazing. He was so friendly and always there refill our glasses. He even gave us these delicious lemon drinks at the end of the night. Just the nicest guy! We walked down to the water afterward, which is only a few minutes away. An overall lovely time. We will 100% be back.
This is a cutest little hidden gem. You can walk by without realizing it's there. Go up and to the right on the brick steps and step into the fireplace warmed lobby and go through to the bar. Light fare, eclectic beers and wines, and delightful cocktails await you. Try not to miss this one!

Loved this place. It has a beautiful historic flavor and a wonderful "you gotta know it's there" kind of feel.
I went on a cool sunny Saturday and enjoyed an Americano and a delicious buckwheat crêpe.
The staff was friendly and attentive. A sophisticated yet approachable staff who were professional, friendly and attentive.
I highly recommend Bar a Vin as a date spot.
A bar with a French influence. Great environment, good service, a rotating daily selection of red wine, white wine and beer for happy hour. Great spot in Georgetown to grab a drink.
Be sure to visit their sister restaurant next door for a full menu as well!
This place is absolutely terrific. I’ve dined here many times and even had my engagement party here. Juan has always done a terrific job and is very kind and friendly. The steak frites here are great, and the cocktails are delicious. The environment is unparalleled too, it’s gorgeous and warm in there.
Honestly can't say enough good things about this place! Was looking for a nice wine bar but this was so much more. This honestly was the best cocktail bar I've been to. My girlfriend and I started off with their Beaujolais wine flight special and it was delicious (see pic) then my girlfriend had a special, their French '89 which was absolutely fantastic then my girlfriend had the rose window which was totally different but also amazingly delicious. I had the Pinot noir which was very nice. I had the French onion soup to start which was very good and I finished the whole thing. For dinner my gf had the gnocchi which may have been the best we ever had, totally home made. I had their duck special which was absolutely amazing and delicious. Overall we love this place, it was a perfect ending to our day and can't recommend it enough

What a GEM! Agi was gracious enough to explain each dish in delicious detail and made us feel so welcome. Service and food is excellent. The ambiance is beyond adorable. I cannot wait to come back!
Stopped in for a beer and a cocktail or two on a hot afternoon, and had a lovely time. Has an old fashioned but very pleasant atmosphere, and great service as well. Was relatively quiet when we were there compared to many others in the neighbourhood, but the drinks were excellent, and although we didn't eat, the food in the attached french restaurant next door looked delicious.
