great food and friendly staff. If you don't have a good meal here and have a problem with the staff it is most likely you who is the problem. Find the place enjoyable for a great dinner and staff. Don't be turned off my any negative reviews. This place is worth eating at.
I have been going here since 1984. Usually it is great.
Not tonite.
After a bad week I suggested 3 of us go to Annies! I was excited as I was going to have a rib eye steak. We got there sat upstairs ordered martinis snd an appetizer. After drinks were served, we gzvf our orders. I ordered a medium rib eye with blue cheese crumbles and a salad and baked potato. The salad is an upchatmrge now and the crumblez are $3.95 extra. My meal with tax would be near $40. it used ti be a salad was included.
Dinners came. My steak had no crumbles. Tried getting attention and eventually got waitress. Asked nicely for the crumble. She comes back with steak and cold cheese crumbles in a cup. They are supposed to be melted. Steak now warm...not got. No fork either. Borrowed my friends. Cslled waitress back and said.."sorry...plz redo..steak us essentially lukewarm now and cheese is cold". WIted. Friends eating and I sut. Steak comez. Hmmm.
New York strip with crumbles that is medium well. Asked for manager.
Waited. Finally shows. Took him aside and expressed my dissatisfaction and that I am not happy. Offered nothing except we will take it off your bill. I go back to my table.
Manager comes back and begins apologies, etc. Now says he isnt the manager but is the bartender and now he is behind on his customers. I got fumed! Why? I thought you were the damn manager! Manager out for wisdom teeth...no one on duty. Not offered crap..no fux. Ask mr for my number and name to eventually give to manager when he is back.
Meanwhile my friends done eating. My experience ruined. Felt I was just an irritant to be honest.
After nearly 32 years of catering to this establisment...sometimes weekly!..I felt I was just some pain in the ass because my $40 steak wasnt good enough. Waitress piints of service sucked. No manager to fix anything. Wasted 3 hours going into DC and waiting for a dinner that never happened.
Well...Mr. Manager bezt cdll me to fix this or I will cut my loyalty to your establisment.
You really pussex me off and treated a very loyal customer lime dogshit.
This was my second time coming to Annie's and it does not disappoint! My mom, sister & I stumbled across this place after Trio's was closed, and so glad we did :) the food is amazing and service is great as well. Everyone who works there is very welcoming and I can definitely sense there is a sense of family among the staff. Go to Annie's!! And the desserts are amazing!!!
I recommend the chocolate cake, strawberry cheesecake and carrot cake for dessert.
Four of us had lunch at Annie's today. The place was not busy when we were seated (11:30), but by the time we left, a decent number of tables were full.
The Gruyere Mac & Cheese bites ($10.25) was good. The Avgolemono Soup ($8.95) did not impress the Greek member of our party! The Pot Roast ($23.95) was tender and flavorful. The Pear Chicken Salad ($18.50) was large and tasty. The French Dip with sub of Onion Rings ($22.45) was good, but the au jus had no flavor. And finally, the Iceburg with blue cheese & 6oz sirloin ($20.95) was perfectly cooked and yummy!
Our server (Blago) and the rest of the staff were all friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is cheerful, bright, and inviting.
Great food! I celebrated my birthday tonight by having dinner here, and it was so enjoyable. I had a NY strip steak dinner that was not only delicious, but so reasonable priced. The atmosphere was very relaxing. and the service was out of this world. I'd strongly recommend this place to anyone looking to have a great but reasonably priced evening at a fine restaurant!
Annie's has a 5 star environment. It is a super friendly and social space. Everyone that we interacted with there was very kind and I appreciate the inclusiveness even when were not the target LGBTQ community. I was happy to bring our young son there and have a dinner and normalize inclusiveness for the kid. It was nice to see the pins available celebrating anniversaries of years patronizing the restaurant. We received an invite for the 75th anniversary celebration coming up on April 28. Congrats, Annie's.
Foodwise, the pot roast reminded me of my mom's pot roast-- back in the 80s. My son ate my steak tips. My husband ordered the t-bone so he could bring the leftovers home. It was tasty and felt like comfort food. Although I won't say it was five star food, it is a five star restaurant.
Kirche is a great example of how a server should be. Attentive without overbearing. The food was good, everything was fresh and cooked to order. The shrimp with the steak wasn't peeled all the way when fried 😭😬😭😭 and the rice was a little older or over cooked (which it was super late so I wasn't upset) . The atmosphere is super friendly and welcoming. Parking is just hectic as any other place would be on that street.
Very friendly staff. Our server was very attentive. Shrimp cocktail appetizer was delicious. The grilled chicken Caesar salad was very good. I opted to add shrimp to it. We had a table next to the windows that overlook 17th Street which provided ample people watching opportunities between courses. Drinks were good too. Decent food at a reasonable price point.
Steaks are great!! Waiter was very helpful with the menu.. A entire menu presentation since this was our first time there. Was in Washington DC for the first time and this restaurant came highly recommended, some of the group we were with were there the night before and said it great. Did not disappoint 😃
This restaurant made SUCH a good first impression on me. What impresses me most is that you get your money's worth with the portions. And this is not just the food but the booze: Don't be turned off by the cocktail prices. They are STRONG. And the food is high quality and generous. The staff are also courteous and incredibly accommodating. I very much wish to come back, if only to try more food options I didn't have this time!
Annie, are you okay?/
So, Annie, are you okay? Are you okay, Annie?
Hell, yes, you're fantastic, Annie. I will be back.
What a great place and such an inclusive environment. The steak is so good here. Staff is wonderful as well.
Food-the London broil is tender and there is a gravy that is delicious. I liked the fries and how they got a bit soaked from the sauce. The Caesar salad tasted like all Caesar salads. Good standard and I was happy with it. I got it as a salad (9) and it was the perfect additional side.
The outdoor seating is really nice too. This place can get crowded so try to come early.
One of my favorite happy hours in town! A great group of Very Very fun bartenders can make you feel like a local while giving you some of the best tips in the city! Love the brunch too! Definitely check it out!
