Very nice coffee shop in a great location. The coffee is not as bitter as the American coffee usually is and the flavor was weak (maybe too little coffee is used in lattes). So if you like mild tasting coffee this is the right place.
The pastries are also very tasty. I can recommend the almond croissant.
Absolutely amazing coffe and services with a great view if the white house with it being so close. If you are lucky, you could potentially see a president or something like them.

Love the coffee here and always get my light-medium roast coffee beens from here (locally roasted in Alexandria). Highly knowledgeable baristas. I appreciate Swing’s focus on the coffee producers’ working conditions and fair pay.
I have buying a coffee from EF Swing anytime I come near the outlet. That makes over 30 years if I include trips to a nearby doctor’s office, sales calls at the VA and IMF, and when my father worked at the World Bank. The coffee is always great and the service is awesome. Avoid the scones. They can be old and stale.
A surprising find in such a commercialized area! This is great shop. They made a perfect cappuccino which was smooth and creamy. It is a classy place with retro style and it is worth the stop.
Swings is back at its original location. The coffee is still the best in the US apart from Little Collins in NYC. Complementary sparkling water to go with your espresso, cannot be faulted. The lattes are exquisite, the milk never over heated, and the coffee just perfectly roasted. Renovated and still awesome. The other location on the other side of the White House which was opened to fill the gap while this one was being renovated is also excellent.
Swing Coffee Roasters is a roastery outside of DC in Alexandria, Virginia and this was their first DC coffee shop in the city. It's one of the closest coffee shops near the White House and Renwick Gallery and recently reopened from renovations.
It's a small shop, but they do a good job of squeezing in enough seating for everyone. They have window seats and small high tables that can sit two people.
It's a simply, classy atmosphere with tiles, lights, and a wooden ladder emerging from the seating area into...well...no where. It seems random, but then you realize it hits their overall vibe.
The coffee itself is good, rich, and smooth. Their latte is one of the best in downtown DC.
Cute coffee shop with excellent service! Grace and Gracie in particular are always so helpful and kind. Definitely try a London Fog if you haven’t yet
