Pappe

{I am not Indian-American} I have been eating at/from Pappe for a few years; I find that the food is generally wonderful and well-flavored; once in a while a dish can be a little off. I love the ambiance and unique decor. The service is friendly and attentive (sometimes it's a little too attentive and interruptive though). I'll always recommend Pappe to anyone, anytime!

Outstanding food and staff! Every time I have come here I have felt welcome and satiated. The warm atmosphere and impeccable service is truly unrivaled. The food comes out with all the authenticity and comfort I look for in Indian cuisine. Hats off to the chef, cooks, servers, bartenders, and managers that all contribute to orchestrating this symphony of Indian cuisine. P.S. Get the cocktails, they are truly wonderful!

This is one of the best restaurants I have eaten in this year. The drinks were excellent and beautifully presented. The food was fragrant, perfectly portioned and beautifully presented. The restaurant, itself is magical. The decor is exquisite and yet comfortable. But the best thing about Pappe is the staff. They all constantly helped each other without anyone of them ever having to ask for help. They worked seamlessly together like a family that authenticly likes and respect each other. It's such a rare thing to see in a restaurant. And the happiness and cogeniallity of the staff create an atmosphere of warmth that made everything even more enjoyable. I am so impressed.

Undoubtedly the best Indian food in the DC area. Its freshness, consistency, and variety of taste, spice, and texture make Pappe a unique experience every time. My favorite is the Sea Bass Curry and the Fried Fish and Scallops. The bartenders are remarkable in the attentiveness and the drink menu is next to none. If you haven’t been to Pappe, you’re really missing out.
