The food here was great. We were looking for some authentic Chinese food and came across this restaurant but thought it looked a little localized but tried it anyway.
They have good Szechuan food and the lady waiter there was so so sweet - she was so excited for me to try out the cumin lamb. The food absolutely did not disappoint (at least the dishes we had) and we'd definitely go back to eat again.
The atmosphere was below avg as it was dingy and the smell wasn't great so I wouldn't call it a vibe, but if you're looking for authentic Chinese food, this is a good spot.

Amazing place! Many menu items... the ambiance is just perfect. A small, friendly place with big flavors and fantastic flawless service. On Sunday, it was easy street parking.
Great portions, and both of my items were perfect, I can't wait to go back and try other entrées.

DC area Asians, rejoice. This place is a super solid place for Chinese food mainstays, not just Shanghainese food but also a decent amount of sichuan options. We ordered the soup dumplings (great), dandan noodles (maybe not the most authentic and sophisticated tasting but still scratches the itch), Mapo tofu (solid flavor although I personally prefer a softer tofu), and the eggplant/potato/peppers (so good). All of that came out to around 50 bucks pre tax and tip. The atmosphere inside was also nice. Strongly recommend!

Solid local Chinese restaurant. Easy to get a table on a Friday night, good food, good portions, nice boba tea, spicy Mapo tofu (owner is from a part of China with spicy food), and they let us close out the restaurant. The place is a bit tired looking and the toilets are downstairs in the basement. But the service is friendly and the take out orders were fast and all by local folks walking in from nearby.

If you are looking for great Chinese food, don't go to Chinatown, go here. Traditional dishes that are amazing. The hand made soup dumplings are great. I really enjoyed the spicy fish broth. The Cummin lamb is also a must try dish at this location.

Randomly walked into this hidden gem!Shirley was really nice helping me to pick the items. For someone lived in China for over ten years, this place is definitely on my revisit list. Will try some other Sichuan dishes. The restaurant and restroom are quite clean. I super loved the warm taro bubble tea! Recommend 10/10!

This is easily one of the best Chinese restaurants in DC. They have an extensive menu for more traditional and home style meals along with your typical American-Chinese dishes. The crispy beef is incredible and a must have! I haven’t had a dish I didn’t enjoy here. The tea is also fantastic and is usually something that is lacking at many restaurants. The fact you don’t have to wait in a line to get in here is crazy.

this place has very authentic food. We order the steam soup dumplings and wonton soup, also a very delicious cumin lamb. The lady is very sweet and genuine helpful to order food, she helps me and my friend to get some good options! Recommended!!

The young lady who waited on us was very caring and attentive. As for the owner, she was rude. Whenever our waitress tried to speak to us, the owner would come and pull her away from our table. We were visiting from New Jersey, staying in Bethesda at the family for Thanksgiving. We went to Georgetown as we had never been there. I was very hungry and we stopped there.

Good food & excellent service:) Their handmade dumplings are worth a try! Brought a friend this time, and she enjoyed the extremely delicious taro milk tea.

The waiter is really nice and she always has a smile on her face when she she’s returning customers. The food comes out quick and I’ve never had a problem with them. Plus, very authentic Chinese food if you’re homesick!!

We came here on a whim after our original dinner choice didn't work out. We're glad that we did because everything we tried was solid. We got the pork dumplings which we quickly regretted not ordering more. The hot and sour soup also ended up being perfect for a rainy day. The Ma Po Tofu had some great flavor but could of used some more spice. We also tried the cucumber salad and scallion pancakes. The cucumber salad was a nice refreshing palate cleanser. I would probably skip the scallion pancakes next time, since it just felt like it was missing something without a sauce.
Overall, good food and a place that I would definitely come back to and try some of the other dishes.

Amazing place: Amazing food! I had a wonderful lunch at Shanghai Lounge. The food was delicious (especially the soup dumplings). The restaurant had a very charming and comfortable atmosphere that I would definitely return to. Customer service was also great! I would definitely recommend!

This place is a little hidden gem. We loved everything we had. The server was very kind and attentive. The space was quaint and perfect. The egg drop soup was the star. BEST I’ve ever had. We are still dreaming about it.
