Stopped by for breakfast one weekday a few weeks ago. It was my first time at Milk & Honey - it's been on my list for a while so I was excited to check it out. Overall great food and great experience. Here are my takeaways: Environment Small restaurant located on H Street - it is more situated for take out but does have some seating if you choose to eat in. The time we went it wasn't busy at all which I hear doesn't happen often so it was pretty relaxed and low key. Service The service was easy - you walk up, look over the menu, order at the counter and wait for your food. They prepare the food in to go boxes (so no nice silverware or plates) but you're more than welcome to stay and dine in. It comes in handy when you don't finish your food and need to head out - you have everything you need already! Overall really nice and clean space with a warm ambiance. Food and Drinks The food was amazing. I absolutely loved the crab cake benedict. The crab was well seasoned and all the flavors came together well. The fish and grits were really good as well - grits were savory and creamy and the fish was cooked really well. I will definitely try other items on the menu. Overall Wonderful small space with great food. Mostly order to go but feel free to stay around and enjoy your meal. Loved the food and will definitely be back for more.

This is my first experience with having a meal from this establishment. I ordered from the takeout menu for breakfast. The food was soooo delicious! I had the French toast with the blueberries, and my coworker ordered the Shrimp Po’Boy. Both were exceptional! I did not realize that the sandwich would be a footlong, and have an order of french fries along with it. That meal lasted for breakfast, brunch, & lunch (3 meals in 1). The French toast was spot on! I can definitely see dining at this location in my future.

I must say, the food here was great. But I feel a little odd about paying top dollar for food that came in plastic and delivered like a take-out order.

Native Louisianian here. This is the first DC restaurant advertised as Louisiana inspired (in 8 years of searching) that food actually has that Louisiana taste! I was blown away. The food was exceptional, with honest-to-God seasoning, and made with fresh ingredients, down to the smallest detail. For example, the scallions on the hash were clearly fresh cut, not pre-prepped and wilted. The french toast was a proper sweet Southern French Toast, not the usual bland eggy toast served at many establishments. Clearly love and care go into each dish. For this reason, there is understandably a wait, but WORTH IT. Food of this quality simply takes time. The H Street location doesn't have a large dining area, but has a nice laid back vibe. The service was great. Attentive and moved through the considerable line quickly. Rearranged the seating to accommodate the different party sizes. Highly recommended.

This place definitely knows the art of making French toast. Not only is it a visually appealing plate, but the flavor and texture is done so very well. 5 Star food. Having visited a different location previously, the menu options and pride in the food presentation and flavors are consistent. Wonderful service, and though I'm not sure about usual wait times in this area, was less than 30 minutes from time of order to grabbing an open seat and vibing to the jams, then being called to be handed my food. Thanks for having another delicious option to this area. Looking forward to my next visit!

I’m extremely disappointed in todays order. As you can see I ordered a bacon, egg and biscuits without cheese. As you can see I ended up with an egg and cheese biscuit. I called to let the individual know and their attitude was less than apologetic. He claims he will refund me my money but time will tell. If not I will refer to this rating and talk to management. The ticket clearly shows no cheese twice due to an allergy. There is no way I can eat around the sandwich. Please do better bc being rude and wrong just adds to a customers frustration. Staff members really need to learn how to do damage control when someone in the kitchen is cooking but can’t read. A real apology for wasting my time by driving in the rain and fighting DC traffic would have been nice. Instead I got “I’ll refund your money” and then a hang up. For this reason I’ve rated 1 star. Something needs to change as I’m a very reasonable person and give businesses much grace. I’ve even give. This restaurant grace and continue to support but today I draw the line. Attitude nasty and being wrong is just crazy July 1, 2023 I’m back with another review, I’ve changed my rating from 1 star to 4 star because upon picking up my order today, the food was correct, cashier was pleasant and handed me my food with a smile. Having a business with a lot of traffic can be challenging but at the end of the day, people want to walk into a restaurant that’s inviting, understanding of their customers needs and overall pleasant and today I received that. Thanks for improving

The food was very good! We tried the Shrimp & Grits, Berries & Cream French Toast, and Egg & Cheese Biscuit. The portions were all very large and everything had good flavor. Only downside was the wait for the food. We were the first inside and waited over 30 minutes for our food. Still would recommend as a place to try as the food is great!
