I ordered a cake from The Cake Room for my assistant’s 5 year work anniversary. I placed the order online. The process was easy to navigate. Picked up the cake at the prescribed time. Both employees I interacted with at the store were friendly. The cake was prepared exactly as I ordered it. It was moist, and the frosting was sweet but not too sweet if that makes sense. Pricey, but worth it. I will definitely order from here again.

We wanted a custom cake for our wedding and dealing with other wedding cake vendors felt very exhausting. My husband and I have always enjoyed cupcakes from The CakeRoom so, we asked to get one of their cupcake flavors as the wedding cake. The staff was extremely responsive and helpful. They paid attention to all the details and made the entire process super simple. The cake was elegant - no frills - just how we wanted it to look and it tasted AMAZING! Super moist to the last crumb - just the right amount of frosting with salted caramel filling and drizzle! It was perfect! Thank you for making our special day, extra special!

Stop what you’re doing and order a lemon lavender cake or cupcakes right now! My mouth is watering at the very thought. We had a small wedding ceremony last year and my best friend was in charge of the cake. She chose the lemon lavender and it was the best. I have since chosen these cupcakes multiple times to take to work events and other celebrations. They are always a huge hit!

Even though the staff was a little late completing my order, the cake was well worth the wait, and I made it to the party in time. Tried the red velvet and strawberry cheesecake, which were delicious. They were the best cakes I have ever had. We got two death by chocolate cookies that were pretty good. I ate it too fast or I would have taken pictures.

Such and easy and smooth transaction to order and customize your cake online within 48h prior to pick up! Website can be a bit buggy sometimes but you can get it done and they take care of the rest! Beautiful big VEGAN chocolate cake for my son’s 1 year old birthday. Absolutely no one would’ve guessed it was vegan and the cake was the most rich, moist and not too sweet cake I had in a while, DELICIOUS. I also ordered a smash cake for my 1 year old and they did a beautiful job on that one as well. Highly recommend them and will most likely use them again!!

You must try the peanut butter cookie! Best cupcake in town! If you still go to Georgetown cupcake, you obviously don’t know what’s a good cupcake taste like. The pastry here is carefully crafted with tenderness and love. The owner is an immigrant who made his dream come true.

Came two days in a row on my DC trip. Cakes were dry both days. Don't waste your time on the cakes. The Lemon Bar was absolutely amazing, both days! The Lotus Cheesecake was also delicious, much better than the cakes. The cookies and Brookies were all delicious as well.

The CakeRoom is a quaint bakery in uptown D.C. serving, you guessed it, cake, cupcakes, cookies and brownies as well as coffee, tea and lattes. The building is small but they offer indoor seating upstairs in a hip atmosphere playing trendy lofi music. The service was friendly and attentive and the cake was good but nothing to call home about. It's always nice to be able to support small businesses like this so if you're in need of a sweet, try The CakeRoom! My wife got the Cookie Butter Cake and I had the Nutella Cupcake. I honestly liked her slice of cake more than my cupcake haha the slices of cake are generous and are double layered. There is just the right amount of buttercream on their cakes and the cookie butter one has cookie butter drizzle and crumbs on the frosting. The cake is fine and wasn't amazing and I can see how people think it's dry and I would have liked it to be more moist but the eating it with the buttercream makes it perfectly fine. My cupcake was nice with a Nutella buttercream and chocolate drizzle on top with Nutella filled on the inside. There wasn't an excessive amount of frosting on the top which I appreciated and overall was good but not as good as the cookie butter one. We sat upstairs to have our desserts and I like the seating area but there were cake boxes everywhere. They seem to be using the dining area as storage for their inventory which was a bit tacky as I don't really care to look at all that but I take it they're struggling with storage space with how little space they already have. I'm not sure if we would come back here again but it was definitely a cute experience and a great place to come and have a sweet and coffee and do some work on your laptop. The Chanel Coco cake I ordered for my daughters 29th bday was absolutely amazing! It was very moist & the icing was just right! Not overly sweet. I highly recommend this bakery. You won’t be disappointed. 💜

Ordered three dozen cupcakes for my husband's birthday--oreo, bananas foster and pink lemonade. They were delicious and pickup was quick, easy and on-time. Their cookies are wonderful, too.

I visited yesterday and purchased 2 slices of yellow cake with chocolate icing, 2 Oreo cupcakes & 2 salted caramel cupcakes. The cake was dense, The Oreo cupcake was sort of dry, however the salted caramel cupcakes were delicious. A bit too pricy for subpar sweets.

My favorite cupcake place ever! You feel like home the moment you walk in starting from the warm decor and ever warmer welcome from the staff and owner. It was my number one hangout spot in DC. I miss it! #pistachiocupcakes mmmmmm

Today I purchased a Congratulations cake for a friend at the Cakeroom. I have been a loyal customer for the last 3 years purchasing many cakes for different occasions. I work in the non profit field for an organization that provides services to the DC under served youth. Our gala is coming up and I asked the clerk if they would donate a $50 gift certificate for our silent auction to raise funds for the youth in DC. The clerk informed that the owner was on the second floor of the bakery and that she would ask. When she came back she told me " the owner is not interested." I was disappointed with the owner not because he was not interested in donating the gift certificate but the fact that he couldn't bother to come down and speak to me about making the donation. What kind of community service does this store provide to the community that keeps them in business? Needless to say today was my last purchase at the Cakeroom and plus the cake was stale and dry so for $51.70 I got an old and stale cake. Never again. Thanks

Stopped in with friends and I got three cookies; snickerdoodle, peanut butter and Nutella. All delicous but the snickerdoodle was the best I've ever had. Friend got a brownie and a lemon bar and they both were amazing. A must try if you're in that area of DC

The yellow confetti cake is perfect, it's the frosting you used to get when bakeries were a thing. The chocolate chip cookies are just right, with just the right amount of chocolate chip, mocha with whip cream is delicious and the cream is real cream. The coffee is perfect no acid in it.
