We had a wonderful date night at Le Grenier! The ambience is cozy and romantic and quiet. We never get to go out and they made this night extra special! The French onion soul was superb, it’s so hard to find a good French onion that isn’t overly salty. The star of the show was their lamb dish - it was heavenly and melted off the bone with a rich sauce. Our server was attentive and very sweet. We’ll be back!

High quality french restaurant on H. The cocktails are high quality and the french onion soup is notable. Make sure to order dessert here - it's one of the best parts of the menu. Service is friendly and accommodating - we once left in a hurry and the owner chided us "Americans always in a hurry". Since then we have made our dinners here much longer events.
Check it out!

Quite possibly the worst service I’ve ever experienced at any restaurant in the world. I’d heard great things so decided to try with friends(group of 3). On a slow Sunday night, my friends arrived at 7:30, and placed their entree orders at 7:50, just as I arrived. It took 20 minutes for us to get our bottle of wine and their food. One of the entrees was lukewarm, so she asked for it to replaced. Our waiter was inattentive the entire meal, with us having to get his attention each time we needed anything. She received a new order of lamb chops 40 minutes later, only after we inquired about its status.
When we requested to speak to the manager, he refused to come to the table; presumably wanting us to shout across the dining room. He constantly interrupted us while trying to express our disappointment, at one point demanding we eat our food. After requesting the bottle of wine to be taken off the bill as a courtesy, he then grabbed the plate of food we waited 40+ minutes for and told us to leave and never come back.
We would’ve been more than happy to simply get an explanation for the lack of attentiveness and slow delivery of the food, and was instead treated rudely and unprofessionally. I wish the food we did get to taste even remotely justified the inexcusable behavior from the staff.

This was actually my first time in a French Restaurant. Also, I never been to France (I will be going next month). Nevertheless, my experience at Le Grenier was outstanding. I love the nice and cozy atmosphere. I liked the vintage décor design inside of the restaurant. The service was great as every restaurant employee I interacted with was extremely helpful. I love that the chef gave me tips on how I could really enjoy the real Paris without breaking the bank. I ordered the “Le Verte” salad with chicken. Very, Very, Very, Very Good! It is an understatement to say that the food hit the spot. I left the restaurant smiling with a satisfied appetite. If my great experience at Le Grenier is an indication of my upcoming Paris experience, it will be a great and memorable trip. Thanks, Le Grenier!

Went for Winter Restaurant Week (February 2021, during Covid). We were seated out back on a small patio, but indoor seating was also available. The patio had little heaters by each table, and the heaters did a great job of heating the space. The indoor space is quiet and charming - exposed brick, tall ceilings, a little small and narrow. Would be good for a special occasion date.
All of the food was great. And the wine went well with the meal as well. The service w felt fairly European (a little slow at times, but then you don't feel rushed through the meal either). The salted caramel ice cream in particular was what dreams are made of. Was a little disappointed that the French onion soup wasn't on the menu, but that just means I'll have to go back another time.

A very intimate, elegant dining experience. We went for restaurant week and wow we were impressed. It was a simple 3 course meal with a large variety of options to choose from. We started with the escargot and stuffed silver dollar mushrooms. They were both perfect.
For mains, we got the Bouef Bourguignon and Marmite du Pecheur. These were excellent choices. The beef in the Bourguignon was tender but not drive and paired perfectly with the noodles. There were also huge pieces of jambon, adding to the flavor. The Pecheur has a large variety of seafood and the stew that it was served in cleverly rounded the dish together.
For dessert we got the chocolate mousse and crepes. The mousse was airy and fluffy, a perfect level fo sweetness. The crepe had caramelized apples and was made to perfection. I’m not usually much of a dessert guy, but these two dishes were phenomenal and totally worth trying!
If you are craving french cuisine in the nation’s capital, I highly recommend visiting Le Grenier. You will not be disappointed.

Amazing place! There is no enough words to describe not only the food but the espectacular experience at this location. While celebrating our anniversary and after enjoying Washington DC for the whole day, we decided to dress up nicely and visit this amazing restaurant not having a clue of the amazing evening we were about to experience.
As soon as we got there were were very greeted in a very nicely way and explained the new sanitary protocols that they are following to prevent any spread of COVID-19. We were offered a beautiful table but we asked if it was possible to eat at the bar and they had no problem with that. The ambience is super romantic and rustic, the music... Oh my God!!! Everything was perfect for our celebration the place fit perfectly to the kind of day we were wanting to have.
We had delicious appetizers; Encornets à la Tomate: Jumbo calamari stuffed with andouille sausage, tomato-cayenne sauce, Escargots de Bourgogne: Snails in parsley-garlic butter in a parsley sauce, Calamari filled with sausage over a delicious sauce, and also an Avocat Cocktail: Stuffed avocado with marinated tuna salad, Grilled shrimp, cocktail sauce stuffed avocado with marinated tuna salad and a shrimp.
As we kept enjoying our delicious red wine and sparkling water main course came along. We eat Le Jarret Fou wich is a slow braised Pork shank, parsnip potato puree, summer vegetables and port wine sauce. We were encouraged to leave some space for dessert. So we did :). And it was totally worth it. It was very hard to stop eating that amaizn pork meat and that combination fo beautifully done vegetables but those crepes we were served they are TO DIE FOR! Mina was a Chichouette: Homemade Wild berries marmalade, Chantilly, Wild berry sauce, pistachio ice cream and my husband's had the Abricotier:
Rosemary caramelized fresh apricot, hazelnut lavender ice cream, Chantilly.
They served us some Champagne and delious coffee at the end of our night.
I am so greatful for this amazing and unforgettable evening. Thank you Adam and Chef Emmanuel for making our day even more special.
We will see each other soon.
Blessings!!!
