The best pizza place in the world. The workers are enthusiastic, the internet is mindbogglingly fast, and the pizza is heavenly. The cheese tastes faintly spiced and strengthens a body like a glass of cold milk.
Excellent pizza. Starts with an excellent dough, which this is. Add creative toppings which pay homage to the experience of the master pizzaiolos. Great service. Great beer. Bene bene!!!!
I had the Chicken Pesto and Spaghetti Squash while friends ordered salad and a pizza. Overall all the foods were delicious. The spaghetti squash could use more seasoning and the grilled chicken was a bit on the bland side. But it was not bad at all. They also have desserts/ice cream from Honey’s next door.
Amazing Food and Service! Came back after about 15 years and it was just as good as I remember! Wish it was closer so I could visit more often! Absolutely delicious pizza!!! Must visit!
I can easily say Comet has my favorite bar in DC. Bartenders are fantastic, always attentive and kind. The wait staff too! Plus they have great food, quick service, and a killer atmosphere. It's always packed with families, and they easily accommodate large groups, too.
It also serves as one of my favorite venues in DC, regularly hosting bands you won't catch at other places. I check out the calendar frequently and am frequently surprised to find a small band from my two original homes, Athens and Atlanta, GA, on the calendar. It's a fun place to be a regular.
2 years ago my family, went because I saw it on Dinner Drivins and Dives. I know I had to go with the grandkids. We all had a blast. Great group of employees, atmosphere, and relaxing. Great for all ages.
Pizza was cut erratically & unevenly, but tasted good, so it's not a big deal. I honestly thought it was intentional but I was told that it wasn't. Kinda weird and hard to split the pie, but whatever. Pics included.
This review is for the late-night bar/concert experience. I have not been here just to eat.
Went here to see Ghost Funk Orchestra...they absolutely killed it and you should see them the next time they come through!
The stage and audience area is in the back of the restaurant and it is absolutely tiny, but that's part of what makes it fun. This is one of these places you go to see bands that are solidly on their way but still humble enough to play small venues. Openers are frequently local and vary in talent and quality. The sound people had some trouble getting the balance right on vocals versus instruments, but I don't know if that is the venue's issue of the band's. Be forewarned that small stage does not equal less volume; it was very loud and I was grateful for my Eargasm earplugs.
Bar service was friendly. The beer list is solid and reps the DMV properly. As for food... skip the late night bar snacks unless you're really hurting for food like we were. It's prepared well in advance so you're going to get something at room temp (or cold). I could tell that it would be good fresh, though, so next time we come here for a concert, we'll come early to get some pizza.
It's been a couple of years since we ate here. The wings are different and better. Had a great spring chick pizza. But the lentil salad was a delicious surprise for us. We agreed that we really need to come here more often.
Super kitschy place. Really good pizza and smoked wings! Everyone was very friendly and helpful.
Comet Ping Pong really delivered today and if I'm being honest, the large loud 11 year old party we threw here meant we weren't exactly the quietest easiest guests. We had the big beautiful back room and our host T. was just unflappable. He was so calm, so polite, so thoroughly thoughtful and attentive. I just was amazed. I asked him how long he'd worked there and he told me 10 years!! That says quite a lot about a place. Quite a lot.
The pizza was outstanding. The kids annihilated it. The wings were great. Great beer for the grownups. I really can't say enough about the event space, and the food, and of course the ping pong, but the staff made you feel like family. Every member of the staff was truly incredible. They work so well together. Nice work Comet Ping Pong! You nailed it and made one happy 11 year old today! Ten stars and a happy dad.
Went to Comet Ping Pong Pizza bc q-anon recommended it if you're in DC! Went in the afternoon and it wasn't too busy. I wanted a pizza and they have just about any topping you'd desire. I went with the Hottie, pepperoni and jalapeño. My wife wanted something lighter and got a meatball bowl and we split a Greek salad. The salad was great, spring leafiness and feta! The pizza was what I'd call ok on the yum scale, and the meatballs very good! We had a couple beers to wash it down.
The service was excellent, meeting our needs and bringing some humor to the table. We were served quickly and food was hot. We had an enjoyable time and I can see why this place is popular!
