I was driving through Washington DC on my way to FL, and I had to stop at Bread Furst, (I have some good memories from April 2016, when my wife and I stayed at the hotel nearby and we really enjoyed the food at the bakery)
I got a sandwich and a latte, and I got a fruit and nut bread to take home.
Anyway, we had it for breakfast today and it was soooo good!
Где взять рецепт хлеба? Спасибо.

Soup is salty which is good. It means I haven’t lost my sense of taste even being sick. I respect the chef’s skill here. Highly recommend making a soup with matzah balls for this dark daylight savings time. Hugs and kisses - Ellie

Can’t believe I had never heard of this place before, I was so happy to have finally discovered this gem. We need more bakeries in DC!
I have to say, this bakery has some of the most options of any bakery I have been to in Washington. It is however on the pricey side, but it’s a great operation and you can probably find whatever grain related product you’re looking for

Bread to die for; to drive really far for. And somehow they make PERFECT-FRENCH-CHEF-LEVEL scrambled eggs. When put into their Messy Egg sandwich, and you add the really-hard-to-find Abuelita hot sauce they have on their tables, you get the GOAT of breakfast sandwiches. 💯💯💯 Maybe it should be spelled "The Messi Egg"?

I heard about this place on TikTok, and I'm glad I visited. I had the best sandwich I've had in DC so far! The bread and pastries are perfectly made, and you can tell they're fresh. The service was also great, the staff are incredibly friendly. In a city with a bakery on every corner, this one really is one of the best.

Saturday morning visit for breakfast & a few items to go (baguette, croissant, pain au chocolat).
It was busy & bustling with a short queue which moved quickly thanks to the friendly and helpful staff.
Warm lighting, bright colours, beautiful shelf arrangements, lots of baked goods on display & green plants make you feel welcome & gave a lot to look at and enjoy whilst waiting for my hot chocolate. The kids also enjoyed watching the bakers at work through the large window.
We sat out front and enjoyed the yummy scrambled egg & bacon muffin.
Definitely recommend and an overall delightful experience.

My favorite bakery in D.C. (or really anywhere) hands down! Love bread? Come here. Sandwiches? Yes. Baked savory/sweet goods? YES. Donuts, cakes, coffee, pastas, specialty lattes, candy (real Kolsvart Swedish fish), pimento cheese…. They really have everything. It’s all amazing and delicious. The items they have out also change depending on when you go! The ham and cheese baguettes are a great lunch and so fresh. Be prepared to stand in a line that sometimes extends out the door early on weekends. Of course, the line is always worth it as the staff here are amazing and work very efficiently. It’s really cool to see them making bread and baking with all the indoor windows too.

An authentic, rustic bakery that u just can't get tired of. The crowd & long lines are just part of the overall ambiance.

This was my second visit to this legendary bread mecca. It was an odd time on a Monday morning, so it was not busy and there was a lot less pressure to make up my mind.
I got the palladin loaf, which is their signature bread. Excellent crust, nice airy structure while still having some substance...a real workaday bread that holds for days. Really pleased with it. The pictures are of our creations using this bread.
The last time I went I got teff rye bread. The flavor is fantastic, but because of the type of flour used, it is very dense and turns into a rock very quickly. Use it fast or freeze immediately. I revived our rock-hard load by running warm water over it briefly, wrapping it in a towel, and microwaving for 30 seconds. I turned it into some amazing large croutons that were supposed to go into a panzanella but ended up just being shoved in our mouths gradually over the course of a few days.
As far as the other items go, I recommend the everything bagel, onion bialy, and schnecken. All delicious.
Don't miss the retail area...they had Shelburne Farms two-year cheddar and I about lost my mind! It is not easy to find outside of Vermont.

As someone who loves to make charcuterie boards, this is one of the best places to get farm to table market ingredients such as cheese, jams, pickles, etc. Not only do they have exceptional artisan bread, but the variety of items to pair with these baked goods are endless. This bakery will definitely be a staple for my future DC visits.
