Our family lunch at Sfoglina was a splendid affair, highlighted by delectable pasta, thoughtful service, and an exquisite Italian setting. A truly five-star dining experience in all aspects. Pros: - The restaurant's ambiance was striking, characterized by an upscale Italian feel, including a beautiful covered veranda. - Service was impeccable. Our waiter was insightful with recommendations, and the turnaround time for meals was quick. - The pasta dishes were a hit, boasting freshness and rich flavor profiles. We sampled a good variety, and every dish was delightful (photos attached for reference!) - For such an elevated dining experience, the pricing was surprisingly reasonable, adding value to the entire experience. Cons: - It's hard to find any negatives. Perhaps those seeking non-Italian options may want more variety, but Sfoglina's specialty is in its authentic Italian cuisine. In conclusion, Sfoglina offers an authentic Italian dining experience that's top-notch. We relished our visit and look forward to returning soon!

I had the pleasure of dining in this restaurant to celebrate a special professional milestone of a dear family member. From reservation through the end of our evening, everything was superb. We had a fairly large party which was accommodated seamlessly. Everyone enjoyed their cocktails and dining selections. We have not stopped talking about how delicious the food was. The wait staff exceeded our expectations. They were extremely attentive and personable. Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, they brought out a special dessert with a congratulatory note for our guest of honor. It was so thoughtful and DELICIOUS! If you haven't visited this fine establishment yet, you are truly missing out.

I really enjoyed the following: Caesar Salad Pappardelle Pasta Dish- ragu bolognese, parmigiano reggiano Tiramisu Cocktail- The Life Ahead, a spritz with Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur and Prosecco Full bar menu with extensive wine choices. Numerous appetizers and pasta dishes. Really great efficient friendly service.

Another great dinner at Sfoglina. Amazing pasta and once again the gnocchi stole the show. A must have each time👌🏽 Only complaint of the night was they tried to serve out entire meal (i.e., antipasta, pasta, and meat dishes) all at once. Normally they space the meal out. Fortunately the manager straightened it out. Overall great evening.

I have been wanting to try this place since i moved into this area last year but today i finally did. I went and had dinner with a friend. The atmosphere was amazing, from the host, to the server and finally the food, everything was great. I ordered some garlic bread and then the squid ink pasta was to die for. Will definitely go back!

Great food, service, and ambiance here. We were treated with complimentary meatballs and the staff were looking out for us the entire evening. Would highly recommend this restaurant for high quality Italian dining in the Van Ness area.

JUST AWESOME! If somebody explain I don’t believe them. Loved everything from the beginning to the end. We had starters, soup, mains, lot of pasta, desserts, drinks and everything were amazing.

Had such a wonderful experience here celebrating our anniversary! We were greeted with complimentary champagne, the food was delish/service amazing, and they even sent us gelato with a sweet card after our meal. Such a pretty spot. Definitely recommend and will be coming back!

this location was first of their three spots, its less busy than before but it never to disappoint in the pasta and small dishes. the meatballs are to die for. the spinach avocado salad was amazing. The calamari is grills and not fired, but still tasty. braised beef ravioli are also so rich and tasty. amazing interior and ambiance

Very nice restaurant that has a nice quiet ambiance. Outdoor seating is fine as well. The food as always is delicious and we will certainly be back.

Cozy and nice restaurant. Both indoor and outdoor is a great place to sit and enjoy your one of a kind food! Really enjoyed the vive and atmosphere. It was really live both at the bar and dining area. Food presentation was beautiful and food itself was really tasty. Highly recommend it for celebration and dare night! Not to mention their service is one of the best for its price and location!

Definitely stumped the waiter by asking "what is the weirdest pasta shape you have? ", but he brought out their pasta board and his suggestion delivered! Their chefs choice was also super unique and peaked my interest as soon as it was mentioned (braised lamb, orange, and I believe cardamom stuffed inside the pasta). I also really loved the vibe and made for an excellent date spot.

We were in DC for a weekend conference and staying nearby, and a colleague mentioned that they were dining at Sfoglina that evening. After looking at the menu online, we decided that we had to as well. It was one of the best meals I've had in some time. It was early on Friday evening, so we crossed our fingers that we could get a table without a reservation. We were graciously welcomed and shown to our table. We started with well made cocktails while perusing the menu. And then the feast began. We started with smoked burrata and salumi, along with provalone garlic bread. All were excellent. Sadly, we weren't able to finish it all, as we needed to save room for the pasta. I had the Tagliatelle Aglio e Olio and my partner the Bucatini alla Carbonara. To say that this was the best pasta I've had would be an understatement - obviously freshly-made with skill and love. We ended the meal with espresso and dessert (Panna cotta for him and Tiramisu for me). The perfect ending. And of course, the phenomenal meal was complemented bt the stellar service of Chris. Attentive but unobtrusive, and very friendly. Should we find ourselves back in the area again, I know where we'll be dining!

Food was a little salty but plenty. The little things I really look for in a restaurant. I loved the attention to detail and the way they attended to their guest. I would go back a night with a group of friends for drinks and social gathering.

It was absolutely wonderful!!! The first C-19 is "kinda" over.. restaurant visit, ; without a limited menu or unhappy, snappy staff. In fact, the Manger made the rounds, checking on us..while praising and complimenting his staff. Everyone working there was smiling and happy to help. The service was only rivaled by the delicious full menu. The pasta was homemade, as was the Ricotta Cheese. Blanched Asparagus? pow!! PoW!! :) Here's a look a the decor. I have always heard great things about Sfoglina, and I was not disappointed on my visit. We went around 3:30/4pm so it wasn’t too busy at the restaurant as yet. The customer service was excellent, warm and welcoming. We had the pomegranate 75 for the cocktail and it was just the right amount of tart and sweetness. We also had the garlic bread, the squid ink lobster linguine and the pappardelle pasta with ragu. They were all flavorful and well prepared. The pasta was the right texture and the sauce perfectly coated it. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and heightened the experience. I will definitely return to try other dishes! Highly recommend.

Came here for a birthday dinner with a party of 9 and they were able to accommodate us through a reservation. We ordered everything family style and there weren’t any bad bites considering how many dishes came across our table. The cheeses, the antipasta, the meats, the salads. It was all amazing. The pasta was a semi-religious experience and made me feel like I was connecting with my Italian heritage. Would definitely come back for a chill quiet meal at some point. Loved this place.
