This place was absolutely amazing! My wife and I went here for our anniversary, and it did not disappoint. Literally, everything that we ordered was excellent! The valet was quick and easy; the food, service, and atmosphere were great; and the restaurant, though full, wasn't too loud. We'll definitely be going back

Absolutely 💯. I worked in this area and never took the time to visit Ocean Prime which was in a 5 min walking distance. The hubby and I decided to swing by on a Date Night <my choice> Everything was Perfect! The reservations, the hostess that greeted us, the nice gentleman that seated us, the Assistant to our server Arrianna. Absolutely 💯 1. Valet Parking - best choice 2. Choice of water - tap, sparkling or bottle...get the bottle <its the best water we tasted in a very long time> 3. See pictures of food/drinks We'll be back!

I came to the DC location for my birthday celebration wirh some friends and family. Food was delicious. I had the lobster lingerie with extra sauce. We had the scallops for appetizers. The pork chip was also delicious. The drinks and her waitress was very observant and made good suggestions. She also had supersonic hearing and could hear us if we needed anything She also knew the menu very well. I would definitely recommend.

I'm sorry I didn't really take pics of the food & drinks, but I really enjoyed my anniversary dinner here. Teresa was an excellent, attentive server without being overbearing. We had yummy cocktails with dry ice, and a bottle of champagne. For our appetizers, we had the crab cake and deviled eggs. The caviar deviled eggs were amazing! We ordered the lamb & branzino for our entrees, with lobster tails, truffle mac, and mushrooms. Everything was seasoned properly and cooked well. Teresa was kind enough to present us with the most delicious carrot cake I've ever had! I didn't realize it had a special message, we just dug in! Overall, I understand the reason people love Ocean Prime. It has a gorgeous atmosphere, equally delicious food, and excellent service. I wouldn't hesitate to spend my next special occasion here.

This restaurant was perfect for a night of fine dining and a show! The atmosphere was perfect for my group. My group had sushi, lobster bisque, beet salad to start. We also had the crab cakes, filet mignon, Oscar style, and Chilean sea bass. Sushi was fresh and delicious. The food was exceptional. Even at these prices $$$$ and the fantastic service (Thank you Steven), We will be back.

The restaurants decor and ambience was superb; however, the dish I got was a special (the seafood paella) lacked some flavor. It was okay I wouldn’t get it again if I went back. The drinks and desserts (butter cake and berries/bubbles) was the highlight for me along with enjoying my friends. The waitress did an excellent job explaining the dishes and cocktails, she was on time very personable and friendly. Had my food tasted a little bit better I would’ve rated this place a 5…

Absolutely 💯 loved this resteraunt, and our waitress was so awesome too. The food was very good and seasoned well 😀. I felt the bill was average for the level of quality for the food and atmosphere. I will definitely come again. I enjoyed the experience. The prime rib was great, too. Valet was $26.00, which is unusual to me 🙃 that was the only negative. We paid it and all went well. I would have given the resteraunt 5 stars if valet parking was more average priced. 🤔

It wasn't the best experience because of two issues, but I think it could be easily above four stars if they take care of the two correctable issues. First, we were there to celebrate a birthday. All the food that came out was great except one 10oz filet. It came out rare instead of medium rare, and when I say rare I mean, looking like tuna. They tried to re-fire it, but they couldn't get it right the second time. However, the ribeye, the special halibut, the truffle devil eggs, the shrimp cocktail, and even the mocktails and old fashioned were all what you expected when eating at a place like Ocean Prime. Pretty Damn Good. #meatthermometer The second issue was the passive aggressive server. Very attentive, very nice, but far too concerned about his tip and let you know it. Ordering our food, everything he was trying to upsale to what we would order. At the point I cancelled the steak because it wasn't going to come out in time, I called 86. At least three times the server kept telling me how the management had deducted things off the final check and to help out him and his co-workers. It just got to the point where I thought about asking him how much money you want me to leave? I will say this, the management was very apologetic. They comped the drinks, gave $100 gift card, and served a desert on a personalized platter. At the end of the day, I would go back to give them a second try. The food overall was great, the atmosphere was great, and there is always another server. I appreciate the way management handled everything.

great place to eat if you have ar least 100 a person to eat. the service was great and they mixed my cocktail right at the table and it had dry ice for such great presentation i felt like a witch. Steven our server was perfect. food was amazing beyond belief. I liked everything about this place.

Wow! My company needed a venue for a small networking reception for 25-40 people and Ocean Prime absolutely knocked it out of the park. Ebony was absolutely phenomenal to work with during the planning phase. And our servers Jessica and Dazhai were incredible during the event. The service was outstanding, and the quality of drinks and food was exactly what we were looking for to entertain important clients. I can’t say enough about how great of an experience this was. We thought people who stop by for a drink and stay for a short time, but we had clients and prospects stay 2-3 hours enjoying the cocktails, atmosphere, and 5 star service! Thank you Ocean Prime!

Updated Review: After talking to the training manager in Ohio, and the General Manager for the DC location, we are now happy! They rectified the situation, and provided a solution, you guys rock! Thanks for taking time to listen to me and hear my concerns. It is very much appreciated! I tried not to do this, but since I have not received any call or email response to my complaint I placed on Thursday, February 15th, I have to resort to Facebook. So here goes nothing. My husband and I visited on Wednesday, February 14th. Upon being seated I could already tell it was going to be an interesting night. So to start, our waiter was less than engaging with us, and seemed like he didn’t want to be at work. We ordered our beverages and appetizer. We requested only ONE lobster bisque, were brought two, by someone other than our server. When we asked the gentleman who brought our soups out why there were two, he explained that the soup had been split into two bowls. Then our waiter comes back we order our entrees: filet mignon, ribeye (both medium well) and two side orders. The wait time for our food was ok I guess considering it was Valentine’s day. So finally our food arrives, my husband cuts into his steak and it’s cooked well done, we finally get the attention of our waiter he takes the steak is not apologetic. At this point a manager comes over to apologize and offers me a drink, I oblige. So my husband waits a substantial amount of time for his steak to come back out and by now his sides are cold. The manager stays and waits for him to cut into the steak, this time it’s prepared properly. Our server never comes over to check on us. At this point my husband needs a beverage refill, finally he brings a refill but doesn’t take the old cup. When it’s time to pack our food up and prepare for dessert, we are brought boxes to pack up our own food, being as though we’ve been to restaurants of this caliber (as well as this one before) we know what to expect so when we have to pack our own food we are flabbergasted. Anyway, we pack our food and order dessert. Our server comes back and says the dessert is going to take 15 mins, we say ok. Twenty minutes pass still no dessert, we are told another 15 mins, that time passes still no dessert, we finally receive our dessert almost a hour later. You would think they would’ve made the dessert complimentary at this point for the wait time, but nope. Overall, the server was disengaged, pretty poor service and wait times were ridiculous. Won’t return, too pricey for the type of experience we had.

Celebrated my boyfriend’s birthday and enjoyed the entire experience. The restaurant was very clean and classy inside, service was phenomenal and the food was delicious! They also have a wine list with a vast selection. We started with a seafood tower that included chilled crab legs, whole lobster halved, oysters with shrimp and crab cocktail. It was so delicious! We had a New York steak and Filet Mignon, both were cooked to perfection and seasoned appropriately to flavor but not overwhelming so you could taste the high quality of the meat. The sautéed button mushrooms and creamed spinach complimented the steaks well, very tasty side dishes. I had a signature cocktail with blueberries and blackberries over dry ice...so fun and flavorful! Highly recommend Ocean Prime!

The atmosphere was pleasant and unique. However our service and food were terrible for an establishment of this caliber. Our waitress refilled our drinks once the whole time we were there. At one point I was getting a water bottle I had in my backpack to fill up my own glass. The steak I received was not the best quality of meat. It felt as though there were little to no flavor in the meat. The baked potato was decent. Hard to mess that up. My drink I requested was a Shirley temple (sprite and grenadine) and it tasted like cough syrup. Overall. Would not come back without someone paying for it for me.

Last night I took my family to celebrate my wife’s and son’s birthdays to Ocean Prime. We had an amazing dinner last night, first we started with the Berries and Bubbles cocktails. They were spectacular! And then we ordered the jumbo crab cake and prime roll as an appetizer, and they too were fantastic! Our main course were the twin lobster tails and filet mignon, which were cooked to perfection and so tender, then for dessert we had chocolate cake and crème brulée. Everything was top of the line, no disappointments! Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant for any occasion. Very well done!

We had a great experience since we came in,we were very welcome,the food was delicious we had as a starter scallops with short rib and mashed potato it was absolutely delicious 😋,then for the main course we had a steak with garlic shrimp on top it was absolutely delicious moist and tender,the service was exceptional,me and my husband we are both servers,Victor was our server his service was just like the food ,perfect !!If u want a perfect dinner Ocean Prime is the place to go

I am a frequent patron of the areas steakhouses and must say I am highly disappointed with both the food and the service we experienced last night at dinner. Am upscale restaurant should provide a certain dining experience despite the late hour!! I do not recommend Ocean Prime if you like having a late dinner. We were there for my girlfriends birthday, which they were well aware of and instead our waitress was no where to be found all evening and when she did make rounds she walked right past us. We waited an extremely long time between taking our drink order to taking our appetizer order. It was not until the appetizers came out that we said something about ordering our entrees. To start with our pretzel bread was hard as a rock, and we were left short two napkins and a place setting. Our glasses sat empty for an extended period of time without anyone asking if we would like another until we flagged our waitress down. When our entrees did come they were far from superior. I ordered a Kansas city steak rare and it came out overcooked on top and dry in the middle with no juice. My girlfriend ordered a pork chop medium and it came out well. She sent it back and the manager did bring it out, but she was no longer hungry. The last straw came when the waitress did mot even ask us if we wanted desert!! We had to ask if there was anything for a birthday. Bottom line eat early or don't go!!!

Great service. The Dutch Harbor crab legs special were a bit smaller than I imagined but quite delicious. Shrimp tempura sushi piled with a few more shrimp novel, innovative and yummy. Ten layer carrot cake had a pool of pineapple purée to touch my fork to on the way into my mouth!

Had an excellent time celebrating my friends birthday! The calamari, goat cheese ravioli and salmon were my favorite! The popcorn they give you at the bar is also phenomenal!!

I was very pleased on the last night of my trip to DC to go to Ocean Prime. Had the Chilean Sea Bass and for the Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake. The food was great. And what really impressed me was the quality of service of staff. My server Kiwi was outstanding and was very informative about menu. Very nice venue and atmosphere. Will be back when I come to visit. Thumbs up �

All of our food was delicious! We had the deviled eggs, tuna tartare, blackened snapper & steak plus the au gratin potatos & creamed spinach. Service was excellent! Would highly recommend!

We enjoyed the atmosphere. Our waiter, Warren, was excellent. He explained everything about the menu and any other questions we had. The food was wonderful! We’ll definitely visit when we come back to DC!

I have been to many restaurants in the DC area. This is the best by far. The service was great, the food was amazing, we had the calamari and the red snapper and t was amazing.

The staff, atmosphere, food and happy hour say it all. This is always on my "get together with friends" go to place.....

This restaurant reminds me of some of the Michelin rated restaurants in London. The food, service, and ambiance was superb. Not only was the seafood excellent but so was the desert. Come hungry because the servings are generous.
