A friend of mine and I ate here for supper. We didn’t have reservations but the hostess told us she could seat us outside, which was perfect! Our waitress was so friendly and cheerful. The food was out of this world. We ordered the vegetarian sampler and the meat sampler. No silverware is used, just your fingers. The flavors are remarkable and truly delicious. I highly recommend eating here. You won’t regret it.

It's been a long time since I've had such a good experience. The food is amazing, the environment is amazing, and the service is incredible. I came without knowing what to order and the waitress guided my way through the menu and made a great recommendation.
The FOOD IS AMAZING

We loved this restaurant! Went for a group lunch and enjoyed sharing food family style.
The waiter was very kind and guided us through the ordering.
Overall our whole experience was very nice and the food, especially the beef, was great. Highly recommend this place

We stopped here on a whim and really enjoyed the chicken and beef sampler! However, there was a $7.50 charge for splitting our dish which I thought was pretty steep just for a small extra plate. They also said on the menu a 20% gratuity would be added for parties of 6 or more but they added it automatically to our bill as a party of 2.

I had the pleasure of dining at a Michelin gourmand Ethiopian restaurant in my neighborhood and it was an absolutely exceptional experience.
The staff's & Owner warm and inviting hospitality made me feel completely at home, while the minimalistic decor and intimate space. The vast menu offers an impressive variety of dishes, including both vegetarian options and perfectly cooked meat dishes.
The injera bread was unbelievably fluffy, and the spicy lentil, Sambussa were definite standouts. The portions were incredibly generous and ideal for sharing with companions.
In conclusion, I strongly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking an unforgettable culinary journey.

The pleasant experience of tasting Ethiopian cuisine. Good for a party to share and try different food. We tried steak tartar, cottage cheese and lamb tibs. Tartar could be better, however, other dishes were good. There is a lot of vegetarian options.

This is my first time trying Ethiopian food and I enjoyed it.
I was surprise not to see utensils at first but our waitress explained to us how to order and how to eat. She is extremely courteous and took her time with us in spite of the fact that she is the only one serving both indoor and outdoor dining. She’s a superwoman! I truly admire her.
Anyway, we ordered some samosas for appetizer and we ordered both meat and vegetarian sampler to try. We also ordered another meat entree. We are a party of four and not too hungry but we killed it!

Atmosphere is quaint and cozy. I found the waitstaff kind and inviting. Decent wine selection, including Ethiopian wine which I very much enjoyed. The injera was perfect, stretchy, and tasty. I give three stars due to my experience with the food. I ordered a beef/chicken sampler. Generous portion. The meats were 1. Very dry and 2. In an overly spicy sauce that covered up any seasoning. It was supposed to be tenderloin but it was ruined. Chicken was the same. Some heat is pleasant, that much heat was not. Then the dessert. So I ordered a chocolate pyramid, described as a chocolate pyramid cake/mousse with a molten caramel center. Mmmmm. Yet when it arrived it was clearly straight out of a refrigerator, the center was a rock hard piece of toffee. Just not what I expected. I would like to sample their vegetarian options though- as you can't dry out the beans or the cheese. This is my honest assessment. Hope it helps.

My hubby and I were feeling very adventurous as it was our first time in Washington. We had walked for miles to Georgetown and came across this beautifully situated restaurant at the waterfront.
As we were feeling adventurous we decided to try this Ethiopian cuisine for the first time. We are both so glad we did.....absolutely delicious and the tastes were Superb! We had no idea what to eat and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and recommended a few sample vegetarian dishes between us and then a main chicken dish with spinach rice. Everything was deliciously cooked and the chicken just melted in the mouth.
The only difficulty I had was geting used to eating the food in true local style using no cutlery and bread only!! It took a bit of getting used to as the staff suggested we persevere as this is how it would be eaten in their country. We persevered and succeeded!
An overall very pleasant experience which we would highly recommend :)

Authentic food if not atmosphere. Service s excellent. And for Georgetown this is an excellent deal - delicious food at a relatively reasonable price spot.

DAS Ethiopian Cuisine is truly one of the best Ethiopian Restaurant in the Washington Metro Areas. From the moment we stepped in the door until we walked out, we were treated with love and care...
I must say DAS has kept the authentic traditional culinary from the old days that is rare to find these days. The food is very fresh and incredibly tasty... agreeable to everyone! Everything makes you feel welcomed... it is a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
In general, the service was excellent, the dinner was sumptuous and the ambiance was superb!!!

We were feeling a little adventurous and took our two dasughters (12 and 15) We had Sambusa's for appetizers which were great and then we all shared the Das Chicken and Beef Combination and the Shrimp tibs served family style. I even had the Ethiopian lager. It was all delicious! The staff were very helpful and friendly. The deserts were very good too. One daughter had a tartufo. The other had a lemon sherbert served in a hollowed out lemon. Everything was superb. best night of the trip!
