New place! Just opened within a week or so. Very busy and the staff seemed a little overwhelmed, but very friendly. Ordered a large pretzel, but 10 minutes after, we were told they were out. We ordered the pork rinds and melted cheddar cheese. They were good, but the portion of cheese was not in line with the amount of rinds... we ran out of cheese rather quickly. Also ordered the schnitzel ruben and it was tasty! Could have used a bit more thousand island as it was a tad dry. Lastly we ordered special spaetzle I really enjoyed this! The beer selection was great and again the servers were friendly and accommodating. I am giving them 4 stars because I know they will be as great as the location in Portsmouth after a short while.
My husband has been trying to get me there for a while, I am so glad I did! The food was amazing as was the waiter! I had the jaegarschnitzle I highly recommend it!
1st I'd like to say THANK YOU for Finally opening this restaurant in VB. I enjoyed going to the Portsmouth location years ago but, it's been over a decade as I hate going through the tunnel and the toll kills it for me.
We arrived during a busy Saturday night and were very happy to wait for a table. We decided to wait at the bar and the Wonderful bartender recommended the Amazing Aventinus to start. It was Delicious! Halfway thru our beer, we were fortunate that our table became available. Our very cool waiter, Laken was Absolutely Fantastic and helped us with Amazing suggestions! He deserves a raise! We shared the brussel sprouts salad, chicken, pork, German potato salad, red cabbage, and an Incredible cheese cake. We will be going back often and highly recommend this place! You won't be disappointed!
Let me tell you, if you like German food, you will love this restaurant. We only had takeout but the service was exemplary and the food delicious. The bartender who took my order was patient with me and got the order exactly right. I have never tasted such good sauerkraut and I have eaten a lot of sauerkraut. A new favourite for us.
Heilige Scheiße! Verdammt! Must stop spot. Food was amazing, service was better, the beer menu was a binder! The waitress encouraged sampling draft selection. Two words. BEER CHEESE! Chili is FANTASTIC! Bring a date don't worry about dressing up it won't break the wallet! 2 people drinks, dinner, appetizer, and desert less less than $80!
Such great food here and a vast variety of beers just like the Original Bier Garden this place doesn't disappoint. Some of the food is slightly different then the original Bier Garden but I can't complain at all. Amazing new building awesome staff and great food would 100% recommend!!!
LOVED THE SCHNITZEL! Our server, Ben, was awesome, the food was fantastic, serving sizes were HUGE! We are definitely going back!
Delightful! Food is great and a happy crowd. German beer house music played and sung live. Waitstaff were very friendly and helpful. Prices were on the high side, but not prohibitively so. My wife and I had a great time. Already planning a visit to try something else on the menu.
I celebrated my 60th birthday here. I have always liked the one in Portsmouth, but this one is new and great! The staff was extremely accommodating and the atmosphere in there was perfect for my day. The food is always good (if you like German style food) and the portions are good sized. Also, they take reservations which I highly recommend during peak times. It was packed by the time we left with people waiting in line. (Our reservation was at 11am and we left between 1:30 and 2pm)
Food was great. The waitress we had was excellent. She was patient with me while describing the German dishes. Loved her and the food! I had fried flounder and my husband had the roast with pickle. I forgot the name of it, but he loved it.
