Murphy's

We had dinner here on a weekday evening. They were setting up for a live band outside, but we dined inside. We were quickly seated and a waiter came to our table in short order. He suggested any of the Irish specific items, so I ordered the Irish Ruben. The rest of my family ordered burgers and a fancy salad. My ruben was really good with some interesting french fry like potatoes. The one burger was a bit overdone but they said they were good. My daughter's salad was really good too. We had to wait a very long time for our food, and the waiter came over and apologized. He also came and refilled our waters which was good. The restaurant was decorated with a lot of police memorabilia and had an overall dark colored theme. Besides the long wait for the food and the one overcooked burger, it was a good experience.

We came here 3 times during our stay in VA beach, that's how good this place & the food were! Best variety & priced happy hour for food. We really enjoyed their oysters & steamed shrimp. The oysters come from their own locally sourced company. Friendly staff, casual, family-friendly atmosphere. Would highly recommend!

“Summertime… and the livin’ is easy…” **Slainte M’Haith ☘️** Great soul-day in Virginia Beach near the Boardwalk! Post gym, took me a hot, sweaty stroll to the post office (a daily gig for me most anywheres) and on the way back? Popped into the uber-inviting Murphy’s to quench the parch with a quaff. Also enjoyed me a too-fine crabcake lunch served up by hip & cool UVA student Mr. Zack — a local, yet well-traveled! The nosh-up perfectly set with nice cottage fries and a plethora of smiling faces from all the amazing staff. 💛 “And did ya know we have live music at 7pm? Daily!” 🤯 Back again??? Oh, Yup! How can I miss? Drove the jalopy this time, and with easy-in valet parking by Kurt & Co. (no charge; tips only!) why the heck not! Try parking anywhere else here, free or not! Crabcake sammich again, this opportunity taken with “chips”. To my humiliating surprise, a bag of Vickie’s. Angel-server Macy (VCU sophomore!) had a good laugh over it (my oldman fault, my fault, my own grievous fault, yo!) and sure to shoot, everything else went swimmingly sweet. The music enchanting, and the airs soft, together bringing reverie of those past times watching rugby with fellow Irishmen at “The James Joyce Bar” in Paris, France. {Last evening of this short vacay — with all too many responsibilities to get back North and handle. Never ending, eh?! #BigBuzzkill} Keep the Faith, y’all! [And please tip them waitstaff well — University is dang expensive for these kids!] 🙏🙏🏽🙏🏿✝️🇺🇸🤠
