Dined here. Spectacular, at-home feel, authentic type sushi restaurant. Pros: excellent selection, perhaps the best anywhere outside of Denver. Excellent fish, unmatched. Cons: extremely pricey. More than most higher end sushi establishments I’ve been to. Great service, they know what they’re doing. As long as you’re prepared to spend, do it. I’ll go back.
I love this minimalistic sushi place. Overall 5 stars for the exceptional food and great service but I am sorry that I strongly think their $5 miso soup is off and didn't taste like miso soup. We sat at the bar and really enjoy seeing the chefs making sushi and rolls, very impressive. We were able to ask for an eel roll which is not on the menu. They make California roll with real crab meat that I never had anywhere else before. While it is pricey here, I found it is worth the price (except the miso soup).
This place is the real deal. Small and tucked away, you’d never know it was there, which makes the experience special. The sushi is so fresh and made to perfection it’s almost incomprehensible. The menu has ever-changing options based on flown in fresh from Japan - if you come here regularly, it’s fun to try different things!
It is expensive. And, a fair-weather sushi fan might not be able to understand or appreciate this place, but, if you’re a connoisseur, you’re now in the know.
What an amazing authentic Japanese sushi ya! The chefs are very friendly and the service is also great, but most of all the sushi is comparable to any high end sushi restaurants in NYC or LA. Everything tastes very fresh and well balanced, and they have a wide variety of fish for sushi or sashimi. You have to call one day ahead to make a reservation and it can be hard to get a seat in the peak season but definitely a must go if you love authentic sushi and sashimi.
This place was a little hidden but once we found it, it didn’t disappoint. They provided great tasting filtered water (really important, tells how much a place cares about their customers).we had the Salmon shrimp roll and soft shell crab rolls, both tasted great. Their seaweed salad was on point, a little small on the portion but on point. Service was excellent as well. There were only 3 of us eating but gratuity was automatically included at 18%, don’t know if this is a common thing for them when only 3 people are dining or a common thing in Vail, but that was fine, saved us 2% ;)
Before coming here I have never tasted sushi so fresh. Every fish had a different ocean-like flavor that was great. I admit that the prices are high $30-80 for a roll but we went for a different culinary experience. Call for reservations and try to sit at the sushi counter. If you are looking for an everyday $10 california roll- this is not your place.
I read the google reviews and was confused by them. but we went to this amazing restaurant anyway. We did the 8 piece chef’s nigiri and it was incredible. Best nigiri ever!!! We also had the salmon and tempura shrimp roll, very good. I highly recommend this restaurant!!!! sooooo goooood
No California roll here.... Don't even bother asking!
