Tavern On The Square

We enjoyed a late lunch after attending the Vail Farmers Market. Choosing Tavern was a spur of the moment decision but one we didn't regret. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed a great view of the base of the mountain. The service was prompt, courteous, and very helpful in assisting us with our menu selections. The food was excellent including it's presentation. We would return in a heartbeat.

I wish the buffet would not have shut down at 11am. Anyway, the food was good, and the waffle was one of the best I've ever eaten. I got it from the waffle station but missed the omelet station deadline. The avocado toast bread was a little oily and I wish my egg were scrambled but anyway very nice atmosphere. Plenty of fruit was available. The chive spread was off the chain good. A little airy and perfectly salted. The smoked salmon was a little stale (crisp) on the outside, due to closing time I guess. Anyway I'll be back.

Fantastic margarita. If you order it spicy beware - they mean it! Service was extremely lacking (we had to seat ourselves despite the sign, order at the bar, and ask for water) and prices were what you'd expect right off the slopes. Nice place for an apres ski - they were playing live music and have a patio for nice weather.
