Bonsai has quickly become our family’s most frequented restaurant. We have enjoyed a large portion of the Korean and Japanese menu offerings and have yet to be disappointed. The service is also excellent. We are so excited to have Bonsai in our neighborhood.
We have always loved the food prepared by these good people. The best sushi (and BiBimBap) in town.
Had a great spicy salmon roll. Gan Pang Chicken was delicious as well as the Dol Sot bibimbap. Tasty side dishes too. Service was good also.
The atmosphere here is amazing. I had the kimchi stew and it was really delicious. I will definitely be coming back.
Overall a good stop to get sushi if you live in Upper Arlington. The rolls seem smaller than other restaurants however still taste great and are very reasonably priced. If your looking for a stop that won't have a wait on a Saturday night this is the spot for you! On another note their white claw is super cheap.
If you ever need a sushi spot to go to… THIS IS THE ONE!!!! Great food, phenomenal service, and extremely fresh ingredients. The layout inside the restaurant is so warm and welcoming as well! 15/10! Highly recommend and I will definitely be coming back soon!
Bonsai never disappoints! Every single time we've eaten here has been above and beyond all expectations. The prices for the food are well worth it, even with inflation. So much so, we drive around 6 hours round trip just to eat here at Bonsai. The spicy beef bulgogi and gyoza are flavor bombs. Absolutely the closest to Daegu as I've had since South Korea... oh bte... if you order gyoza, follow the Rule of One. Whatever number of gyoza you think you want to order, add one more to it. You'll thank me later...
Service could have been a bit more prompt especially with the bill, but staff was friendly to children and the food was excellent. The Seaweed salad and tofu Jim were quite good. We also had the tempura veggies which were good, but when isn’t fried stuff tasty? We had a couple vegetarian sushi rolls which were great as well.
There are so few places to get grilled mackerel in Cbus and this is one! Bonsai does not disappoint. They also have a wiiiidddee range of other items to choose from, spanning both Japan and Korean cuisine. The lady who served me (who I assume is one of the owners?) was great and offered great advice on how to enjoy the food (stirring the dumpling sauce into my rice mmmmm). Every entree seems to come with extra side dishes including kimchi, some sort of spiced cucumber, and another kind of cold potato dish. They were all delicious and I'm so sad I couldn't finish everything! My bill came to 30 bucks, but that was with a large beer, an appetizer, 3 tiny side dishes, rice, and of course the grilled mackerel. Please please please try this place! We need to keep them in business so I can try more of their food in the future! Haha
