Neat little place inside and fills up pretty fast at lunch.
We all three ordered the pizza salad lunch special. about $14 with tip.
The pizza come's out looking fantastic.
I had the thick crust and my buddies has a thin crust , my crust was a bit on the burned side a bit hard.
We all expected a much better pizza since this place is a pizza joint.
The pizza is just ok kind of bland tasting .
The service was fantastic.
We maybe back some day, if we are working in the area because we would like to try the fried chicken...
But too drive out of your way may not be worth your time.
Too many other pizza joints that have much better pizza.
BUT they do something right because they were busy..
Pretty good St. Louis style pizza but definitely not the best out there. I'd maybe have it again if i was in that area, but wouldn't make a special trip to go back here.
It's easy to see why people keep coming back for Frank and Helen's fried chicken. And even if fried chicken isn't your thing, there's plenty on the menu to hold ones attention. Service was some of the friendliest that I've had, and it was readily clear that there's a set of regulars that come in and are known by their first name. I'm late by nearly 60 years, but maybe with some luck they'll come to know me by my first name as well.
We've been here twice, both times were nice!. On our first visit we decided to just take a chance and see how the pizza was. It is good, traditional style pizza with think crust and a reasonable amount of toppings and mozzarella cheese (not the St. Louis provel things). Fresh toppings, good Italian sausage, good salad. On our second visit we tried the broasted chicken and it was excellent! Definitely some of the best chicken I've had in a long time. Service is always friendly and there is clearly a big, regular crowd of locals who love this place, which is always a good sign to me. We'll be back.
Outstanding little place. Went here last night with some friends on a whim and LOVED it! Read the reviews regarding the highly recommended house salad dressing, pizza, and fried chicken. Ordered all of it and LOVED IT! The pizza was outstanding and the friend chicken was crazy good. Even the next day the fried chicken was amazing. Meat was juicy and flavorful and the crust was just right, crunchy/flavorful, but not too thick like most places. We also ordered chicken speidini which was sooooooo amazing! They also had crown candy ice cream which was incredible. The service was warm and friendly. Can't wait to become regulars here.

Great Family Atmosphere & Great Food. This place has always been a great family restaurant with great food, and the owners, Patrick & Rebecca, continue to keep that tradition alive. I have been a customer for years, and have never had a bad experience. Not only do they have the best Chicken in St. Louis, but the best pizza as well (made the way you want it). It is not unusual to see Patrick or Rebecca getting to know their customers and their families on a busy night, and I have even had the pleasure of meeting their own children (and Becca's father- who helps on Tuesday and Wednesday night) as well! This is a warm and inviting atmosphere, run by a great St. Louis family.
Great food. Love the food although quality has suffered with current owner. Service stinks.. Grew up on the pizza here.
Used to be a great place to get a good meal for very reasonable price. Lately trying to make it into something it isn't.
My Boys' Favorite Place. Each of my boys has their favorite meal, cheese pizza & broasted chicken with applesauce. I had the shrimp pesto pizza and all of the food was fantastic. Our waitress brought out doughballs, which kept my 5 & 7 yr olds busy. Food was fast, service was great!! Would reccommend to all families. Will Definitely be back
I had the Frank's special which was very delicious. The staff is very kind and accommodating. The pizza crust is crackley, crispy and flavorful. The toppings were fresh and generous. I ordered the chicken wings which were not good. They were very unremarkable. The pizza however was great. This place is special and it has a unique and homey atmosphere.

I was told not to miss Frank & Helen's Pizzeria. So for my solo meal of the week, I stopped here. A bit busy with a brief wait for a table because they just don't have enough servers. Still, the young lady who served me was fabulous perhaps because she wasn't completely overloaded. After I arrived at 7pm, only two other parties arrived after so I would suggest arriving later and you shouldn't have to wait.
The reviews of the creamy garlic salad dressing are legit. The salad itself is nothing special. It could just as easily have been from a bag at the supermarket and the same with the croutons. But don't miss the dressing.
I chose a Frank's Special pizza in "mini" size which arrived about five minutes after the salad. Perfectly topped and cut into squares, it was excellent. I did not notice the anchovies at all which was the only disappointment. Delicious toppings, perfectly cooked and not at all the "cracker" crust that Saint Louisans seem to like.
It's unfortunate that I didn't have a dining mate with me or we could have split a larger pizza and also tried the broasted chicken which looked and smelled amazing but I just can't eat that much food by myself. Maybe next time!
The atmosphere is cute and very clean. A good old fashioned pizza joint with broasted chicken. Chicken dinner with mashed potatoes /gravy and broccoli was served warm, not hot. Antipasto salad with anchovies was tasty. Homemade ranch dressing was great. Will return to try the pizza, as it looked delectable. Most customers seem to order the chicken or the pizza.
My first time I got the frank special and meat lovers was pretty good I went in Tuesday called in wish the told me about there Tuesday special and wish they have there seasoning blend in containers so you can get it with ur to go order but I will go back was good it's worth trying
When it comes to Stl Style Pizza, Frank and Helens is a staple for the region. When inside, the resturant gives off relaxing, homey vibes and has those awesome red cups you use to be able to find everywhere. You can definitely tell that this place has been in business for a while.
The food and drinks are great, especially the pizza. For this trip, we had a meatlovers and supreme pizza, both of which were excellent. We also tried their salads and toasted ravioli, both of which we can definitelyrecommend.
Old school St. Louis style pizzeria in the U City area with broasted chicken on the menu as well. We had a house special salad with house creamy garlic dressing, large cheese pizza, and Frank's special pizza. This pizza is a thin cracker crust with a homemade tomato sauce and St Louis cheese combo. Nice atmosphere, hometown feel.
The potato sounds were possibly the best I've ever eaten. Of course the pizza was divine as well. They also had crown candy ice cream on the night we were there. Not sure if they have it all the time but what a treat!
I've been going here since high school...eeks! Then it was one of our regular weekend stops. Have not visited since the pandemic, but nothing changed. The best thin crust pizza in STL...hands down! Like the sauce, which is actually a pasta sauce and perfectly gooey and just the right amount of cheese on their homemade crust. Salad has always just been iceberg and a few add-ons but always cold and crisp. It still looks like it did in the sixties, and that is fine. If you want a slick corporate place bypass...if you want good pizza, then go! Most highly recommended, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Main dishes were good, salad was served at room temperature and the ‘room’ was very warm. I would suggest not visiting on hot days, the ac could clearly not keep up. Have no idea why the salad was exposed to those conditions. Our server Nia was beyond excellent.
Mom and pop place that delivers great food. Pizza and chili is what I had. Very very good. I saw the fried chicken plates and it looks amazing. I went on a Tuesday and they were busy. Looks like the have a lot of local customers. Can't wait to go again.
