Athena Greek And American Family Restaurant

We stopped in after lunch and the restaurant was cozy and quiet. We were promptly met by a kind and helpful hostess, who was also our waitress. The service was pleasant and fast, the food was warm and tasted great. We thoroughly enjoyed our food. The menu is vast and stretches between Greek, Italian and American cuisine. I definitely recommend this nice little family owned restaurant for a good lunch or even dinner.

Service was attentive. Food was good. Our side orders were mixed up which was not caught and corrected by wait staff. I would call that an anomaly. The experience was fun and the context wall art is nice. The upkeep is lacking. Walls are scraped up and restroom in need of handyman attention which detracts from otherwise delightful experience. That won't keep us away but hope they can fix over time.

We are out of our home town and we’re looking for a difference in cuisine. Athena Greek & American filled us up with some of the best ethnic food we have had in ages. From appetizers to dessert the entrees were authentic,delicious, and well priced. . The generous portions were tummy yummy delights. The friendly staff and the and the ambient atmosphere made our evening complete. The beautiful scenic travel slides almost made me want to hop the next flight the Greek Islands.

GREEK! You will not find better Greek food within 100 miles of Tyler. I have been here many times. I always get the sampler plate. And if you like baklava they make it homemade and it is Legit. Great service! Great atmosphere! If you haven’t been here, you’re missing out. Oh and you can ignore negative reviews that say the service isn’t good. I’ve been here many times and it’s always good. I’m sure they have hard days. The food is very authentic as long as you’re eating Greek. I can’t speak for the non-Greek food they make.
