Korean Garden

Great food. Every person I’ve taken there or met there, love it and want to return to try something different. I can’t pinpoint, what meal is my favorite. I grew up working in a family owned business of immigrants, that became citizens, that enjoyed all the opportunities American has to offer, and I enjoy knowing when I trade with them, it’s also a family owned business. And it reminds me of my own upbringing. Even though my family were immigrants from Ukraine and Lithuania.

Made a rare trip to T-town today and decided to give Korea Garden a shot for lunch. I had bulgogi on the brain, but wanted someplace new, so this was it. As it turns out, the bulgogi yen got kicked to the curb by all the pictures of the stir fried pork belly and squid in other reviews, so I decided that was the fare for the day. Seating was prompt and the young man was prompt with a drink and a menu. While not huge, there are enough options to please just about anyone, in a variety of price ranges to boot. For today, I restrained myself with a starter of fried pork dumplings and the aforementioned stir fried pork belly and squid. The dumplings are arguably an appetizer, since there were nearly a dozen of them in the order. I could have almost made a meal of just those alone, and been quite happy. In short order, the entree and all the trimmings arrived. I won't begin to guess what the banchan sides consist of, but they're all good. The entree itself was very well done. A couple of the pieces of squid were a little chewy, but overall, properly cooked. The pork belly slices were tender and well seasoned and the overall dish nicely balanced with just a taste of heat. I regret that I did leave a couple of the dumplings behind.... I just couldn't find room. Very enjoyable experience with good food and great service. I highly recommend Korea Garden.
