This place is a hidden gem. Like, for real. We couldn’t find it because it’s so hidden. Once we actually walked down the alley and saw a bull over a door (no sign), we figured that was the place. Walked in and greeted by dark wood paneling and seating surrounding a beautiful bar.
I went with the salmon special which was phenomenal. My table mates ordered the bone-in fillet special from the menu which was more than enough for 2. One of them said it was the best steak he had ever had in his life - high praise from a guy who I know loves steaks. The side - Brussels and shrooms - were excellent.
Then came dessert. Holy smokes! We shared a 12” creme brûlée as a table and managed to polish it off. It was amazing. We couldn’t do the 1.5 gallon ice cream cake. Super solid! Would go back in a heartbeat next time I’m in Tulsa.
All of the food items were delicious, cooked to perfection. There’s a lot more to the menu than what is printed out and it changes based on availability. Our server Emily was wonderful, made great recommendations and let us take our time with all our choices. The place can get really loud with the live music and everyone else talking over it so talking across the table is challenging at times, but this doesn’t take away from any of the great parts about it! Bartender made a mean Sidecar, really enjoyed it! I had the petit fillet “Oscar” style with a crab cake & asparagus topping and the béarnaise sauce was life changing! For our sides we picked the potatoes egan (loaded minus the bacon) and the brussels sprouts which were AMAZING! Even non-brussels sprouts lovers were taking bites!
Entrance is at the rear of 207 North Main St. past the alley behind 11 E Matthew St. You will see a tall door with a bull-shaped sign hanging above the door. While a bit tough to spot, it is well worth the effort as this is the absolute best restaurant in Tulsa. Lounge feel with a small menu (steak or fish) and gorgeous piano bar. Everything about this place is perfect. The atmosphere is fabulous with gorgeous decor, soft lighting, and intimate feel. Solid wine list, and the bartenders are as good as they get. The servers are absolutely fantastic and special thanks to the hosts and Daniel for running a tight ship. I absolutely adore this place, and you will too.
My neighbors took my wife and I there for dinner. We had reservations. The steak was very good, so was the wine and the sides, mushrooms, potatoes and spinach. We had a very good time. The wine was very good.
I would go back. Two thumbs up. I recommend going. We got the tomahawk steak and split it.
Awesome food and great service in a very "speak easy" like atmosphere. Seafood tower was great and very fresh tasting. Bone-in filet was possibly the best cut of meat I have had to date. Great rye old fashioned. Thanks Matthew for taking good care of us.
Note, prices are not for the faint of heart and would likely fit many budgets better by sharing with friends, but great place for a high end anniversary dinner.
Went last night for our Anniversary. Everything was amazing. Our server Emily was awesome. Recommend asking for her. If you are like me and look at reviews: disregard the one stars. You can look at their other reviews and tell they are not worth listening to. If McDonald's and IHOP are your 5 star restaurants (not saying they are not good at what they do, but they are not 5 star restaurants) then you probably need to go somewhere else. Thanks Bull for the amazing night.
A wonderful experience! NYC high end feel in the homey small town vibe of a city of Tulsa. It’s especially wonderful for a special occasion, but definitely order whatever is “off menu.” Lobster bisque was fantastic. Brussel sprouts are amazing. The staff are eager to please with that friendly, easy going charm. You get what you pay for, people.
Service is very good but sometimes had to search a little too find server. Food is very good but extremely pricey; have had equivalent quality food at more reasonable priced restaurants like Maggiano's or Fleming's. Chocolate cake looked beautiful but was disappointing dry. Creme brulee was yummy.
We waited around 40mins for our steak, but it was worth it. The steak is very tender, and it was debatable as my favorite steak out of all steaks I had. Worth coming for a celebration!
Price isn’t that bad for the food and portions. Party of five was $250. We had the table steak, pasta, bacon, wedge salad, and the chocolate cake (HUGE). Not one person left disappointed and was very satisfied. The wine was amazing, and so were the beers. Wonderful.
