I've been eating here for almost 40 years, and it is one of my favorites. I'm only in the area once every few years, but it is always as good as I remember. Tonight is was especially good.
Excellent Mexican Food. My family has been going to Club 21 for 43 years. The food and service has always been outstanding. We especially like the great Lunch specials and the new Game Day 1/2 off all appetizers. Skip, Vanessa, Linda and Kimberly have always provided excellent service with a smile. I highly recommend Club 21 for great Mexican food. Looking forward to our next visit!
I think Old School best summarizes it. The food is classic Mexican food served in a classic restaurant. Its like going back in time, except in a good way.
We go there on a regular basis as the food is good, priced right, and the Margarita's are good. But mostly for the atmosphere as it feels like an old school supper club that serves Mexican food.
OLD School. This Oracle rd. icon has been here about 40 years. I would eat here occasionally and not be disappointed.
Nothing stands out, but nothing disappoints. A lot of old snow bird regulars help keep it afloat.
Comfy, cozy, normal.
We have been there twice and have found; the food delicious, the ambiance interesting, beautiful, and playful, the staff helpful and attentive. There is food on the menu for every budget from ala carte to a large fancy dinner for a date. The first time we went we ordered the fajitas and share them which had enough for two people to be full from dinner. This last time I went I ordered a carne asada chimichanga enchilada style and had to take some home in a box. I also love that with the chips they bring a mild salsa and a spicier salsa, I dipped from one to the other, lol! I would recommend this restaurant and I also love that the dollar spent there goes to the owner and staff in our community.
The food was excellent (enchilada combo plate) and service was outstanding!
Loved the food and atmosphere! Congratulations on the new business
Very friendly staff, and beautiful entry way. The lighting is quite dim inside, which makes reading the menu a bit tricky. The entree was very good, but the rice and beans (which I think are sides for everything) were bland, but not off~putting, just unexciting. Overall very pleasant experience.
I've been craving a good ground beef chiming and man was I not dissapointed!!!
I've been going to Club 21 since I was 3 years old in 1965. The food is always the same......teriffic Mexican food. I can count on it being prepared the way I love it for each visit. They have the BEST Cheese Crisps that I've ever had anywhere. I gotta find out how they make them. Service is always nice and quick. Atmosphete always the same.....nice Mexican adobe building and not so loud I can't hear rhe person next to me talking. I always look forward to a meal at Club 21 when I visit Tucson!
I haven't been to The Club in about 20 years. While in graduate school at UA, friends and I met every Wednesday night after my class, with our dates or wives. We ordered the same thing every night, pitchers of cold beer and the best Margaritas ever, usual chips, and GREEN CHILI. OMG, the chili was out of this world good, had been on the stove slowly gaining flavor since daylight. That was fifty years ago, and I can still remember that taste, and wish I had a bowl right here and now. Maybe someday I can drop by again for dinner.
One of my favorite places. My family has enjoyed eating there for over 50 years. Taft, John, Linda and Vanessa have all made sure each dining adventure has been the very best.
That was then, this is now. Two weeks ago Taft suddenly closed the doors. It was time for him to put his life ahead of the business. It was sad that he closed without giving more notice to his customers or his staff. But that was the way it happened.
Vaya con Dios, mi amigo.
If you find yourself in Tucson and you was to eat at a truly historical restaurant this is the place to go. Club 21 has been around for a very long time. Back when Oracle road turned into miracle Mile just at the curve... Back when Oracle road was the place to have a nice meal. Come check it out family-owned family, run. truly a Tucson gem.
We had a group of about 30 people for a happy hour today. The service and food was great and so was the special Cactus Margarita! We will definitely be back.
