D's Island Grill Ja

This is the best Jamaican food I’ve had since being in Jamaica. You have to call in an hour ahead for any of the red snapper dishes, or else wait an hour for it to be prepared as the fish is, of course, frozen. Completely WORTH IT. 🤤 Love the whole in the wall, eating in the family kitchen vibe. So grateful to have this Caribbean option in Tucson!!

I'm new to Tucson, so I have not eaten at one of the African or Caribbean restaurants in the city. I went back and forth and decided on Caribbean food and Googled the closest place to me, which was D's. The restaurant itself only had a few tables, so it's small, but he smell of spicy food hit me right away. I ordered the Jerk Chicken, a ginger beer, and a cucumber splash, which was a cucumber and ginger drink, and my order came within 10 minutes. Everything was delicious! I got my meal with a side of steamed vegetables, and they were seasoned just right. I also had a big serving of red beans and rice. D's Island Grill JA is worth a try.

Have eaten here a couple times now and the food and service are consistently great! This past time, I got the jerk pork and my friend got the jerk chicken. Both dishes were very flavorful and the pork had a nice smokey taste to it. It also was not dry at all!
