I love this place. The food is amazing and the staff is so friendly. I went with a few of my friends for my birthday, and they helped me celebrate in style. I will absolutely be back and would highly recommend it! :)

Came here for dinner one night, and have to say that I was very impressed with the food. It’s very unassuming given its location tucked away in a mini mall. The pasta is amazing and very fresh. Service is very friendly - they brought food in a timely manner. Atmosphere was nice - it’s straddled between being a casual and fancy Italian restaurant. Outdoor seating got a little bit noisy towards the end of the evening.

Mamma Assunta is our "special occasion" Italian Restaurant! Delicious food, daily specials, attentive service and cozy atmosphere all lead to a great experience every time. We brought friends here from Wyoming to demonstrate to them what a real New York Italian restaurant is! They'd never experienced anything like it. This is one of the rare places where I've found Cannelloni on the regular menu and of course, it is delicious. Try the endive and pear salad with its bright lemony dressing, or the linguine with clams, which my companion said were the best he'd had in many, many years. Portions are generous and if I attempt having a primi and a secondi, I roll right out of there. Great for leftovers or sharing the primi. Desserts are wonderful, too, so do keep that in mind when ordering ...
Just remember that you need to look a little bit for Mamma Assunta. The plaza is up a few stairs, and the restaurant is at the back of the plaza, so it's not easy to see from the street. Very well worth the little bit of effort, though.
Bread was good, pasta was al dented not mushy. Two pasta dishes at our table had too much sauce! But not the orrechiete with broccoli rabe & sausage . It was tasty & had a perfect amount of ingredients. Salad was served with entrees. Decor is a little dated, but place was full on a Saturday night. Worth a visit!
I wish I took photos of all the food. But everything came out hot and fresh, absolutely delicious. There's a nice private room in the back for larger groups. It got really hot at some point in there, understandable for the amount of people. There are high chairs for little ones. Unfortunately, no changing tables for them though.
Liked the food very much - had the best pasta sauce ever, and the salmon was perfectly cooked. Strawberry shortcake for dessert, yum! Street parking. Clean. Excellent service.
Mama Assunta's is a great local restaurant. The food is very good, the service is very good and the atmosphere very comfortable.

Excellent service, and food. Been here numerous times. Have enjoyed Burrata, tricolor salad, cannelloni, many other dishes. Leave room for dessert.

I should have written this years ago. We started coming to Mamma Assunta's about 15 years ago. The reasons we keep coming back are:
- The owner, Elio, is warm and accommodating
- The staff is really good
- The food is excellent, with some of my favorite dishes in all of Westchester
- The ambience is nice, with a great fireplace right near the entrance
A couple of recommendations:
- Conchiglie Nostrane, which is sweet Italian sausage, shell pasta in a tomato cream sauce. Someone in my family orders this every time.
- Vitello Pizzaiola, which is veal scallopini, peppers, onions & mushrooms with marinara and capellini pasta (my favorite)
We made sure to order takeout from here on a regular basis during Covid for selfish reasons - we wanted to do our part to keep them in business because this is our favorite family-friendly Italian restaurant in all of Westchester!
Mamma Assunta is consistently very good with great service and very reasonable prices. What more can you ask of a local restaurant?
