Review Mamma Assunta - Tuckahoe

Came here for dinner one night, and have to say that I was very impressed with the food. It’s very unassuming given its location tucked away in a mini mall. The pasta is amazing and very fresh. Service is very friendly - they brought food in a timely manner. Atmosphere was nice - it’s straddled between being a casual and fancy Italian restaurant. Outdoor seating got a little bit noisy towards the end of the evening. Food - 15/20 Service - 6/10 Atmosphere - 7/10 Total - 28/40

Mamma Assunta is our "special occasion" Italian Restaurant! Delicious food, daily specials, attentive service and cozy atmosphere all lead to a great experience every time. We brought friends here from Wyoming to demonstrate to them what a real New York Italian restaurant is! They'd never experienced anything like it. This is one of the rare places where I've found Cannelloni on the regular menu and of course, it is delicious. Try the endive and pear salad with its bright lemony dressing, or the linguine with clams, which my companion said were the best he'd had in many, many years. Portions are generous and if I attempt having a primi and a secondi, I roll right out of there. Great for leftovers or sharing the primi. Desserts are wonderful, too, so do keep that in mind when ordering ... Just remember that you need to look a little bit for Mamma Assunta. The plaza is up a few stairs, and the restaurant is at the back of the plaza, so it's not easy to see from the street. Very well worth the little bit of effort, though.

Bread was good, pasta was al dented not mushy. Two pasta dishes at our table had too much sauce! But not the orrechiete with broccoli rabe & sausage . It was tasty & had a perfect amount of ingredients. Salad was served with entrees. Decor is a little dated, but place was full on a Saturday night. Worth a visit!

I wish I took photos of all the food. But everything came out hot and fresh, absolutely delicious. There's a nice private room in the back for larger groups. It got really hot at some point in there, understandable for the amount of people. There are high chairs for little ones. Unfortunately, no changing tables for them though.

Liked the food very much - had the best pasta sauce ever, and the salmon was perfectly cooked. Strawberry shortcake for dessert, yum! Street parking. Clean. Excellent service.

Mama Assunta's is a great local restaurant. The food is very good, the service is very good and the atmosphere very comfortable.

Excellent service, and food. Been here numerous times. Have enjoyed Burrata, tricolor salad, cannelloni, many other dishes. Leave room for dessert.

I should have written this years ago. We started coming to Mamma Assunta's about 15 years ago. The reasons we keep coming back are: - The owner, Elio, is warm and accommodating - The staff is really good - The food is excellent, with some of my favorite dishes in all of Westchester - The ambience is nice, with a great fireplace right near the entrance A couple of recommendations: - Conchiglie Nostrane, which is sweet Italian sausage, shell pasta in a tomato cream sauce. Someone in my family orders this every time. - Vitello Pizzaiola, which is veal scallopini, peppers, onions & mushrooms with marinara and capellini pasta (my favorite) We made sure to order takeout from here on a regular basis during Covid for selfish reasons - we wanted to do our part to keep them in business because this is our favorite family-friendly Italian restaurant in all of Westchester! Mamma Assunta is consistently very good with great service and very reasonable prices. What more can you ask of a local restaurant?

I was there twice. First time with my friend and I had a dinner of my life. We were fighting for appetizers because I was not really sure what I ordered. Mine was a soup and it was delicious. For the main dish I ordered lasagna and despite the person was not too large I couldn’t finish it. The desert was ice cream : gelato custom-made and I had a double espresso with her a few drops of Sambuca. I was extremely happy and ended up carrying 1/3 of my lasagna back to the hotel. My friend who is a food connoisseur I was very satisfied to not only from the food which was served in the perfect way but as well from fantastic service beginning from the owner of the restaurant who is greeting us and inviting in very nice way and all the other people involved. During the meal they presented all the chefs who prepared our meal to big applause from all customers. It was a great experience and wonderful they got great applause from the customers. Two days later I returned Just by myself for late drink and desert. I wanted to sit at the bar but today around a single table for me and again serve me in the wonderful way. I felt very welcome and satisfied. The service was wonderful and the older extremely pleasant and friendly.

Attended my niece's Confirmation party there. Food was excellent from appetizer to pasta to main course, everything was served hot. Waiter service was exemplary . Would recomend for everything from parties to intimate dinners.

This very comfortable restaurant has a pleasant decor and the tables aren't jammed together. Service is great. The menu is Italian with some unusual dishes. I had a mixed seafood rigatoni that was delicious. Prices are typical for this type of establishment. Parking is easy as there is a municipal lot on the next block. Meters go off at 7. I'll go back for sure.

This place is always great! It reminds me of Italy in that they will make you something off menu if they have the ingredients. For example, my wife has a restricted diet and they always make her some chicken marsala without any flour so it's gluten free

Hidden gem of Italian restaurants. Usually a dish like chicken scarpaiello you get overcooked dry sausage, dry tough chicken, and hard potatoes. Last nights dinner should be a benchmark that other restaurants should try to beat.

I love this place. The food is amazing and the staff is so friendly. I went with a few of my friends for my birthday, and they helped me celebrate in style. I will absolutely be back and would highly recommend it! :)

I TRULY love Mamma Assunta and can't wait to get back! I went with a group of my girlfriends and we had the best time. The food is beyond amazing, the staff so kind and the owners make you truly feel like part of the family. I will be returning ASAP!

It's the best Italian restaurant in that area that I have been to. The portions were large and the gravy like mother used to make. Would go there again when I am in Tuckahoe.

This will be my first and last time at Mamma Assunta I ordered Pizza Personale Fresh mozzarella & basil Pizza this was awful it was frozen pizza that you stick in the microwave at $11 each. Also I ordered Gamberetti Deliziosi Fresh gulf shrimp sautéed with extra-virgin olive oil, garlic, red pepper flakes at $13 They were swimming in the butter awful. After going in to try to speak to the owner he wouldn't come out.The only thing he said he will speak to the chef it's shows me this owner is a cowed.

Came for dinner with my husband and small children, it’s been quite a long time since we’ve been here but nothing disappointed! Food was fabulous, service was impeccable and the price is right! So happy we came tonight and will be back soon for sure!

Went here for Easter dinner yesterday. Food was fantastic and the service was very attentive. Would definitely go back again.

The waiters and busboys are just wonderful. Always courteous and attentive. The owner Elio always makes you feel welcome. We love the food !!! Great specials and they're always willing to make special dishes when you request it. If you don't see it on the menu just ask.
