Excellent menu, service, cuisine. Downstairs is very intimate.
Probably the best Italian food that we have ever had. My wife's father is from Italy and we know our Italian food. Our dining experience was exquisite. Would highly recommend. Thank you so much for a perfect meal.
I don't usually write reviews, but.... After a couple of mediocre meals in Incline (locally recommended!) we found this place. Excellent food and service. Very good wine list. We had the Caprese Inverno, Veal meatballs & pasta, Ravioli, and pan seared Halibut w/mashed potatoes...cocktails each and 2 bottles Amarone. Everything was very good. I could tell this was a good place when I walked in. Highly recommended.

Atmospheric, Friendly staff, classic Italian menu, homemade pasta, always a great date.
Had a really good dinner here last tonight. Recommend the Marsala and the Ravioli. Those were two stand out dishes. The caprese salad was also excellent. We were not a fan of the bruschetta. When we are back in town we would definitely come back.
This was my second time at Pianeta, and I absolutely loved it. Reservations can be hard to get on short notice, but I recommend constantly checking their reservation system for cancelations.
Service is good, and the food is outstanding. We had the antipasti as an appetizer, which was good; the burtata was my favorite. For mains, we had the grilled prawns and risotto. Both were very good, but I wish there was a bit more sauce with the grilled prawns.
For dessert, the tiramisu was amazing, but the portions are large, so I recommend sharing. There are plenty of drink options, too!
The food was excellent. We ordered the chef special( halibut), pork chop and the Risotto. No pictures are necessary. The one already published talk by itself.

This place is awesome! A true gem. On the main strip in truckee, expereince home cooking vibes in a classy setting. Carlos & Ian served me at the bar. The staff make this a fun atmosphere while still maintaining a upper level class of service. Everything on the menu is made in house & you can tell. 10/10 reccomend.

I love the ambiance and old world Italian vibe at Planeta! The pasta was wonderful, and caesar salad as well (although i would get light on the dressing next time!)
No phone policy is something more restaurants should do, it is a great idea whose time has come in fine dining!
Great spot for a date night! Tried the Ravioli and the Olio Pasta, both were fantastic! Hard to pick a favorite because they are so different, but I recommend getting the Olio pasta with added sausage. Love that the pasta is made in house, you can really taste the difference. The service here is also great, thank you Katie for being so inviting!
If you are looking for a fantastic meal for a special occasion this is the place! The ambience is great for a date or family gathering. The wine selection is extensive and the appetizers are very tasty. The staff is very cheery and the food well prepared. I suggest getting the veal meatballs.
Pianeta restaurant in Truckee is located in the downtown area. It has a nice atmosphere and the food was great. It was quite expensive but worth the experience. We were able to get in without a reservation. The service was okay.
Hands down the best restaurant in Truckee. Delicious food and drinks, stellar service, fun times at the bar. The staff genuinely cares about doing their absolute best and taking care of the guests. Make sure you book a reservation or get there early for a seat at the bar (my preference).
Great experience. Staff was lovely. I didn’t like the wine by the glass but that’s not on them. It’s expensive but in a mountain town it makes sense. The quality of the food product felt farm to table. I was especially impressed with the Chicken Marsala. Although the pasta was a bit bland it was well cooked.
Then came the deserts. The picture of the empty plate is all you need to know. Chocolate pistachio brownie with raspberry drizzle and caramel gelato. YUM
vanilla bean crème brûlée for my buddy. We had a great time. Check it out if you can afford the night on the town.
