El Sombrero

Best Mexican restaurant in this region of Ohio! My wife and I loved Cazadores and went weekly for years, but when the owner retired the quality of dishes quickly diminished. El Sombrero is the restaurant I have been looking for! We have eaten at every restaurant from Dayton to Lima and El Sombrero is top notch. I have never had bad food, drink or service in this establishment and hope to frequent it for years to come.

It's not fair for me to review, I don't care for Mexican food. But lots of family members to and they suggested this place. We had out of town company, they do like this type of food but even they didn't care for the meals they ordered. I'm sorry, but like I said other family members really like this place.

Disappointed with my experience picking up our carryout order today. Arrived at the restaurant to pickup my order and was told the credit card connection was down. Could have been told this when I placed my order as sometimes I don't carry a lot of cash. Anyway I drove into Troy to an ATM to get cash. After about another 15 minutes has passed I got back to pickup our order. Went back inside and waited to be helped by a different young woman. I told her that I was her 15 minutes ago and had to leave to get cash. I paid for my order and was told it would be up soon. There were orders sitting there to be picked up and she never looked until I had to ask her to check if my order was one of them. Sure enough it was ready . I don't know how long I would have been waiting if I hadn't asked her to check then. Does Ruben still own the restaurant? We've been eating here more that 20 years regularly and service has gone downhill the last 6 months or so. Not sure if we will be regular customers anymore due to customer service.

Best margaritas I've had in the Dayton area. That's nachos I've had at the Dayto area. For my entrée, I ordered shrimp Diablo. It was not spicy enough for my taste. The hot sauce I asked for was not all that hot. Service was adequate but sparing. Overall a good place to get Mexican food especially if you like your Mexican food on the less spicy side.

Our favorite Mexican restaurant. We live in Huber hts and go there when ever we can. My sister comes from Centerville to go with us that’s like 50 minutes away. My other sister lives in Riverside and comes to go with us with a 35 min. drive Rueben the owner is a super guy. We make it a party. Love love this place
