I have been to Middle Grounds dozens of times over the years and always enjoy it. The food is usually very consistent, high quality (steaks underdone on a couple of visits, though rectified quickly), and service is better than at most restaurants in Tampa bay. I like that Middle Grounds is nice but not 'too nice,' casual, but not 'too casual.' It has a relaxed, low key Florida atmosphere without being touristy. My mom came with me for dinner last night and thought it was the best meal (and service) she'd had a very long time. She'd say ask for server David. :) There aren't too many restaurants that come to mind when I think of places to eat in Tampa bay that I really, really like - this one does stay at the top of my list. Keep up the good work, Middle Grounds team!
Absolutely delicious! Open later which was nice when we had a late flight into town. We had the chefs specials. Highly recommend. It changes to go with the seasonal fishing. The freshly speared pecan crusted hog fish was to die for, and the fresh wild caught stuffed halibut was uh-maxing. 5 stars isn’t enough. Service was fantastic. Our waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. � � � � �
A gray-haired local told me to go here. I went at 5pm to take advantage of the reduced prices on their early dining menu, and I ended up eating a 4-course meal for $35. The service was prompt and the waiter Peter was very good. The food was perfect!
I have had a chance to do some traveling in my life at my age of now 36. To be able to din at some good restaurants from the east and west coast. None so far have been better then Middle Ground Grill in St. Pete Florida. The decor, hospitality, atmosphere, team work and waitress Alicia were awesome 5⭐. When I come back to St. Pete Florida I'm definitely coming back to Middle Ground Grill Restaurant. Awesome Job!!!
This restaurant came highly recommended by the locals and it did not disappoint. Upon arriving, we were greeted by fabulous smells. We arrived as the restaurant opened and were seated quickly. We were presented with a Happy Hour dining amazing menu that featured slightly lower prices with smaller portions. Although accompanied by delicious appetizers and a salad, it was more than enough! Ever single dish we ordered tasted wonderful. No details for every item on our plates was ignored and the flavors exquisite! Our server, Nancy, was professional and her warm personality made us feel welcome. She had excellent recommendations and our food and was spot on. Hats off to the Chef(s)!
Awesome food and atmosphere. The scallops were wonderful as well as the Key Lime Martini. The Salmon was also had at our table and was awesome. Live music was nice. Andi our waitress was awesome!
Great food, great service! My family is in the restaurant business so I’m no stranger to good food. I just happen to have a soy allergy and that in itself is really limiting. The staff was super helpful in making sure everything was safe. They don’t Fry in soy oil and serve pure olive oil with their herb mix for dipping the yummy warm bread. Can’t say enough good things about the quality of ingredients, flavor and preparation of our food. Cooked perfect and served hot. My husband and I ate here 3 nights of our vacation. We ate at several other places in St Pete Beach area (unimpressed) and kept coming back. Favorite meal was the Sea Bass, but the aged steaks are really good as well. Topped off our meal with Creme brûlée. So good! You won’t be disappointed!
Really good! The fried cheese cake was different but really good. Great old fashioned drinks and atmosphere.
A Local barkeep recommended we try it, really enjoyed, egg roll appetizer is very special, do it. Greek appetizer also was great. Medium rare New York Strip was perfectly done and delicious. Peter was our server. Really good service. Really good food! Sat at a table in the bar. (Live music) Everything we had was served with middle ground's own spin, (ie.egg roll boats and special sauce, Chipotle ? sauce with New York Strip) WAIT! We are not done. We asked for the dessert menu. Peter suggested the pineapple upside down cake!! So good!! Don't leave for home without it!
Found bar seating first come-served quickly on a Sunday late afternoon. Multiple dining areas. Good seafood mains and basic sides, attentive service, was able to take advantage of Happy Hour. Live music setting up for tonight. Accessible entry and rest area.
