Local who has never been to Amical, going to be honest it was very good but the standard menu items weren't spectacular in any way. Special cookbook menu didn't hit me as something to try either. Olive twists were great. For the very high prices I was expecting more, and it was too hot and cramped in the restaurant and the server was just ok...

At the time I had lamb shank that was on the menu for a limited time. It was alright, could have been more tender and flavorful. Service was okay, could have been more attentive. The bread was good. French onion soup was flavorful and hot on a cold day. Jumbo lump crab cakes were decent. Raspberry creme brulee was good. Prices were a little expensive.

The food was fantastic, made reservations the day before and were seated immediately upon arrival. Our server was great, very attentive and informative. The menu is AMAZING, the filet was so tender and juicy, we actually went back two days later for dinner again it was SO good. Definitely give this place 5 stars and more. Our table also got the salmon, and it was amazing as well. Drinks are well made and dessert was also delicious. A++++

We had dinner here while visiting the City. It was a relaxing atmosphere that was well lit and welcoming. Stacey was very helpful and was helpful with drink recommendations. The portions were perfect and the food never made me feel heavy. I would most definitely eat here again.

amical was great overall. We highly recommend trying the smoked white fish and French onion soup. My mushroom dish was incredible. My spouse ordered the shrimp pasta and it did lack flavor. We enjoyed the crème brûlée and chocolate tart for dessert. The service was great and they had a sweet “Happy Anniversary” card waiting for us at our table.

The restaurant is great, the food is delicious and a beautiful presentation; however, the most important aspect is the service.. from Greta’s amazing bar services to our server, Zach’s and Andrew’s attentive, friendly service.. this is a MUST! You will NOT be disappointed!

Fabulous restaurant! Narrow dark ambiance with an open kitchen. We were so grateful they sat us in the way back next to a window. Wonderful outside seating. Food is amazing! Amanda, our waitress was delightful!

I love it when a restaurant lives up to its reviews. This place had amazing fresh food, plenty of wine options and an awesome collection of desserts plus dessert drinks. We ordered the crab cakes, whitefish (herb dressing), amical salad and tomato soup. All items were exceptionally presented and delicious. But the tiramisu was the highlight of the night. So soft yet full of flavor, highly recommend it. We’re going back again just for this before we leave TC. Lastly, our waitress Stacy was awesome as well, she regularly kept tab on us and recommended most of the food items we ordered. Amical is definitely top restaurant to visit when in Traverse City!

As far as food, amazing! The ambiance in the restaurant, fantastic!
Our server, on the other hand..
I'm not sure if we weren't spending enough or what the problem with us was, but she did not check on us after we received our food. My husband needed dressing and ran out of water. I had to ask for a box and boxed it myself while I heard her offer to box up other diners' meals and extend a dessert menu to them, which we were never offered. After previous reviews I was excited to try dessert, but opted out after this.
