Davis Grocery & Barbecue

Several people have recommended this place to my husband and I since we moved to Taylor earlier this year. We finally made it today & it did not disappoint! We had the brisket sandwiches with macaroni, corn & potato salad. The brisket was tender and so flavorful but the sides really stood out to me! This is some of the best macaroni I have ever had. The staff was also super friendly and you could tell they genuinely care about their customers. We cannot wait to return soon!

Not wanting to stand in line in the 95 degree heat of central Texas, we decided to go to the other barbeque place in Taylor. This was by far the best decision that the Mrs. made the entire week. This place, I would call a hole in the wall that seemed to be visited more by the locals than the tourists. This was without a doubt the best baby back ribs I've had in a long time. I also sampled the brisket and sausage, also both very good. The food was so good we decided to make life easy for father's day and get some to go and take with us back to Louisiana. Highly recommend!

Absolutely awesome BBQ! The brisket literally melts in your mouth. No sauce needed, but gosh darn his sauce is amazing. The ribs are perfectly cooked and are perfectly moist in the center with a good crisp on the edge. Everything has such a great char and smoke flavor, and you really cannot beat the price.

Best BBQ in the area! The brisket is always great! The beef sausage is the way to go! Now the BBQ SAUCE! We call it, “The Comeback Sauce!” The potato salad, beans, and coleslaw will get you right! Make sure you get a Big Red, Big Peach, or Big Pineapple to go with your meal! I’m getting hungry again typing this!

So yummy it will make your mouth water, and you WILL want to come back! Not to mention, they are so kind and friendly. Great family down home place. The group working at Davis really are something special! Me and my coworkers came in yesterday after a hot day in the sun and that BBQ made it all worth wild! Can’t recommend the brisket enough, and the customer service is simply unmatched. Sweet group of people that deserve all the praise, check them out if you’re in the area!
