It’s the real deal barbecue! They must prepare all of the side dishes at another location (nearby). I did not see an actual kitchen. Probably explains why they don’t serve fries 😋. The sauce they use must be there own cuz it’s served on all the meats. Servings are very generous so bring an appetite. Pineapple sweet tea is authentic and a nice change to plain sweet tea. Inside picnic tables and benches are huge and high (high table height). Located in a neighborhood not a commercial park so keep an eye out or you’ll pass it by (like I did). I went in the middle of the afternoon and the place was hoppin’. So be prepared to wait a bit . . . But oh so worth it!!!
Awesome food! Nice place to eat! Definitely the best BBQ in Tampa! The sauce is amazing the Mac and cheese is on point and the beans were great!!!!! My wife got the greens which were out of this world!!! Meat was cooked perfectly! Only thing we didn’t try was the sweet tea but everyone there said is was awesome!!!

I visit Tampa a few times a year and when this place was recommended to me, I couldn’t wait to stop by.
I got the two meat plate with ribs, chopped pork, mac and cheese, and collard greens. Added a slice pound cake for dessert.
Everything was amazing and the ribs stole the show.
The pound cake was the best pound cake I’ve had since I lived in Alabama.

I loved the sausage but not a fan of cheese rice. I had to take the cheese off the top to at least enjoy it. Green beans missing flavor. My husband ribs were good. I don’t think I’m going to try the rice again.
Soon as you walk in you smell the goodness, then you hear the oldies/jams that would be at the family reunion. That's what you get before you see the smiling face at the register to take your order. I ordered the whole chicken family meal with Carolina gold sauce, mac and cheese and collards as my sides. Also purchased trigg rice and potato salad a la carte. The trigg rice is a must! It is a specialty truly one of a kind. The aroma of the meat on the smoker had me anticipating the moment I could devour it. It was flavorful, tender and juicy and blended perfectly with the carolina gold sauce. The carolina gold sauce brought me back to growing up in NC a nice tangy flavor with a little kick to it. Ordered a red velvet cake for dessert and it was perfection! I always tell people if you want good bbq in Tampa you have to travel to south Tampa on Hubert Ave where Konan's is located as you won't be disappointed.
It was my first visit and I was pleasantly surprised. The employees were great. The building was very clean and the food was delicious. I got a togo order and it was served in a timely manner. I did not visit the restroom. The pricing was fair for what you get. If I am ever in the area I will definitely go back.
I always wanted to try them had heard great reviews and me and my wife were not disappointed. Everything was phenomenal I mean from the chicken, ribs, sausage, potatoes salad, Mac n cheese, baked beans, and the greens. Oops almost forgot got the pineapple tea and lemonade is just ridiculously good. I'm so mad that I forgot to take a picture before I started eating, I will definitely be back a lot, me and my wife. Visiting Tampa from Columbus, OH, and headed here right off the plane. We were looking for a quick bite to hold us over until dinner... boy were we surprised! The music took me back to when I was a kid, so waiting wasn't a problem. Great service, and the food is amazing. We shared a rib dinner, and still had food left over. Our only problem is that we had to come all the way to Tampa to get good BBQ.
I can’t say enough about this food! Best BBQ in Tampa by far. The ribs are flavored so perfectly as well as the pork. Let’s not forget about their special bbq sauce! Always great service, great food, and great prices! 10 out of 10. Highly recommend giving it a try.
It was my first time at Konan and the employees said I would be back. They are right. Food was great. Price is cheaper than any other restaurant. The pineapple sweet tea is a must try.

Best bbq meat that I think I’ve ever had… large portion sizes for the price, nice and tender chicken, pork, and sausage. Everything was juicy and flavourful, and the sides are amazing! I got the Taste of Memphis, the Mac and cheese side, and the pineapple sweet tea, all of which are exceptional! It’s also worth mentioning that the everyone we talked to was friendly and welcoming… you can’t go wrong stopping in here!!
