Review Samaria Cafe - Tampa

It was my first time eating at this restaurant. Our server was very friendly and her recommendations were all amazing! We also had a chance to speak to the owner who was so pleasant to talk to. They have many original dishes from France 🇫🇷 in their menu and the ones we chose were very fresh and priced right. Both meals were delicious. I had the ratatouille crepe and it was fantastic! We will definitely be back to try other options of the menu.

The breakfast was really good here. The food came out fairly fast after we ordered. Our server was very friendly too. They have a small patio outside.

Was staying nearby on a business trip and looking for a good place for breakfast. The staff at our hotel recommended Samaria and it definitely did not disappoint. In fact it was so good we ate there every morning for four days straight. All the staff was lovely but Terry really was so warm and inviting. Everything is made fresh and the quality and portions are very consistent. The omelettes are definitely bigger than what I get in NY. You can tell a lot of pride goes into every dish. They have dishes with a French influence as well but I stuck to their omelettes and would take a wrap to go with their homemade potato chips for lunch. Home now and already missing their breakfast!

I tried out a new (to me) cafe in Downtown Tampa. If you blink, you might miss it so DON'T BLINK! This quaint little eatery has a flamingo speckled and palm tree theme to remind you that you are indeed in Tampa! Samaria Cafe has been there for about 10 years and the current owner, a delightful French woman named Karine, bought the restaurant just before COVID. She has adorned the menu with a few French classics like ratatouille (so yummy and a nice presentation) and crepes. The Crepe Brulee... OK y'all... imagine the custard of an expertly crafted Creme Brulee on top of a crepe, then topped with sugar... Then BRULEED! You get the satisfying crack of that brulee and all the goodness underneath. This one was my fave. It is not the most picturesque but my taste buds did not care! The Crepe NY Style was shaped like a pizza slice and had cheesecake, strawberries, and whipped cream. It did NOT disappoint! We started with the juices, fresh and made in house. The Simple Green is quite vegetal and was almost like a green gazpacho. It was delicious, but didn't have a juice feel to me. The Sunrise was citrusy, bright, and not overly sweet. The Flamingo Juice was the table favorite which was watermelon juice and lime. I could drink that all day, every day! The Mimosa, Chai Latte, and Cafe Mocha were also DELISH! You may even enjoy a little champs with the flamingo juice The Charcuterie is a must have for the table. Brie, goat, swiss, meats, baguette... Lovely! And it is served on little plates from the owner's childhood! VERY nice touch! The California Benedict had PERRRRFECTLY poached eggs, impeccable hollandaise, avo, bacon, side of hash browns (but you get choices). The Omelette was MASSIVE and stuffed and absolutely sharable! Rosie got breakfast potatoes with it. I highly recommend giving this place a try!

Food was 4.5! Secured a table outside, nice and shady. So many great options, waitress recommended the crepe with ratouille and goat cheese(forgot the name) was SO good! Chocolate croissant and French press were the perfect addition. 10/10 recommend.

My fiancée recommended this restaurant to me during my layover in Tampa Bay! I ordered the chicken pesto panini and it was a juicy chicken sandwich. The chicken was cooked to perfection and it was a generous portion of Chicken. The bread was ok, the cheese was nicely melted, the spinach added a nice balance to the sandwich, and the tomato however made the sandwich soggy. Overall the sandwich was delicious and that pesto was well seasoned. Each sandwich came with a side and the fries were crispy on the outside, but fluffy in the inside. My server was nice and attentive. The ambiance gave me cafe vibes. I would definitely come here again and try the rest of their extensive menu!

Came here from the airport for breakfast! They were super accommodating with allowing us to keep suitcases in the corner. Our waitress was Madison and she was great! Super kind and attentive. We had eggs Benedict and the monte cristo. Both were great. And the home fries were sooo good. a lot of good flavor to them. Really friendly atmosphere and there’s cute outdoor seating too!

Food came out within 5 minutes after ordering and was delicious. Got the Cuban sandwich and Western breakfast crepe, both were great. Hash browns were greasy, the only reason food is 4*. The Cole slaw had a nice unexpected sweetness to it.

This is a hidden gem in downtown tampa. We come for breakfast all the time. The staff are great and the owners are present working along side of their staff. The owners make you feel like a friend. And Terri the server/ morning supervisor is our all time best friend. He always makes us feel welcome with a friendly smile.

Have a very nice breakfast. Excellent location. Super friendly staff. Will be back next time I'm in Tampa.

We visited the Tampa Art Museum and took a Saturday afternoon stroll on the River Walk. Samaria Cafe was close by and reasonably priced. We ordered three sides of Ratatouille and a baguette for appetizers. Yum. My wife got the walnut, turkey and brie crepe, I got the philly cheese steak and home fries, son #4 got the Monte Cristo sandwich, son #3 got the brie fillet on a skillet with fried egg on top, and son #2 got the chicken Caesar salad. The chicken in the salad was a bit dry, but the other dishes were all very good. 5 stars-- more of a sidewalk diner with both inside and sidewalk tables. Not as fancy as some of the other River Walk fare, but a third the price. We'll be back to try some of the other fun dishes. Where else can you get Ratatouille?
Lorraine Sanchez
Our server was great! I wanted to try something different so I went with the crepes filled with ratatouille. It did not disappoint.

Visited this location while on vacation with my husband and the service and food were absolutely AMAZING!!!! I got the grilled chicken wrap with chipotle spinach and it didn't disappoint it was so full of flavor! I also got a bowl of fresh fruit as my side dish and the fruit was delicious!!! We left very happy and it was not expensive at all so make sure to leave a great TIP!!!!

I was a regular until today. I ordered a kid's meal based on prices on samariacafe.com, which shows $5.99. I go to pick up my order, they're charging $7.49. I called and told Georgia that the website showed $5.99. Had I known that, for .50 more, I would've ordered a full meal! No one cares that it comes with a soda. The order was a piece of toast, one mediocre egg and one sad piece of bacon. After she was finished debating with her husband what the price was, I was pretty much told, oh well - that's what the price is and I'm the only person whose ever complained. I went back online to double-check and sure enough, $5.99. I call back - it's not about the $2 at this point. She says with an attitude, well - I don't know about the computer. I tell her it's her website. I swear, I've seen a movie like this before. Apparently at Samaria, the customer isn't always right. The menu shown on this website is apparently 8yrs old so I added screenshots from their "current" website.

Service great, manager -she was very attentive and checked on everything several times. We went on a Saturday morning for breakfast and ordered the Gyro Omelet (very good but I ordered without tomatoes) and the Grilled Mandarin Chicken Salad (husband loved this!). Overall a great experience. It is a casual dinner atmosphere. Would go back again.

Dirty plates, terrible quiche - service average - friendly but not quick - the omelette had way to much vegetables and made sloppy - Sunday extremely crowded -

Food Great, Manager a jerk!. Every time Ive ordered from here the food has been great. Service is great! However today the male owner was yelling at his waitresses on the floor. He was cussing and customers could here. Total turn off. Probably won't go back. You discipline in private not in the dining room where its full of customers. That is so unprofessional!!!!!
Tricia Lynn Watts
Great breakfast. Locally owned and MUCH better than first watch! On the same block even, take the few extra steps!

Greek hospitality. Good food, unpretentious, good service, owner takes pride in making sure you are satisfied, and is incredibly hospitable.

Never again. Came in on a Sunday afternoon. I was greeted by the owner. I think her name was Georgia. She seemed nice (at first) our waitress came and was very pleasant the coffee was good but our food was a little late in arriving so we notified the waitress and noticed she told the manager. He promptly came over and apologized. We assured him that it was fine and were just curious as to what the hold up was. He told me he would go check. After that I noticed him run to the back and I actually heard him screaming at the cooks and at our server. I couldn't believe it. I felt so bad for saying anything I actually apologized to the server. Our food eventually arrived and it was not worth the wait. Bland overcooked omelettes. Fruit was rotten and the sausage was burnt to a crisp. I noticed an additional charge on my check for the fruit that was already supposed to be 1.50 extra, but there was another charge of 1.50. When I asked about the charge the owner came over and said that she was making sure that we were charged for our fruit. I think she was hoping we wouldnt notice. I can't believe it. I would never return because she is obviously trying to overcharge her patrons. Service was great but those owner/managers are shady and rude to customers and employees and food is sub par. Never again.

My Sunday Spot. I've read a couple reviews critical of Samaria's owner, Georgia. I don't get it. These people admit the food and service are terrific, but they are griping that Georgia didn't seat them upon arrival. So what! She greets every customer with a warm smile and a big hello. Do you really need to be walked to your table when it's only ten feet away from the door? Additionally, when she is not slammed, she does often walk you to your seat, and usually makes the rounds after you are served to check up you. I have never gone there without Georgia asking me if everything is okay once the food has arrived. She has even gone out of her way to make suggestions and prepare dishes personally for me that are not on the menu. In the two years since my Mom passed away, Samaria Cafe has become a Sunday morning father-daughter tradition. Georgia has no idea, but it's amazing how much good food, and especially a friendly face, have raised our spirits. Thanks, Georgia.

Where to begin? When we walked in the hostess who I later found out was the owner would not get up to seat us because she was eating food, which I thought was extremely unprofessional. Georgia is her name handed us menus and utensils as she pointed to a booth for us to sit at. As we ate I observed that Georgia not once got up off her seat to sit any of the guests. She would point and hand them menus or have the nearest server to her to have them do it for her. As we waited for our food Georgia's husband Steve the other owner talked our ear off about how great his life was. Again extremely unprofessional. Even after our food was dropped off he did not walk away from the table for us to enjoy our lunch. He talked about money and taxes. I wanted to enjoy my lunch and the company of the person I was having lunch with but Steve made sure that did not happen. The only reason that I would ever return to that restaurant is because the food was good and the service was awesome. I've never met two more unprofessional owners of a restaurant. I feel for the employees who work at Samaria Cafe

Samaria Cafe. Wow!!

Watch out for Georgia-owner/mamager. The best part of this visit was Brittany the server- I think all of the employees was a bit fearful of ms georgia- can u believe that turkey sausage was an extra 2.50 - talked with ms georgia and was told that is the way it is- in other words you can order it or not it doesn't matter to me. i also notice that this restuarant cater to mostly whites - as we at that time was the only people of color in at that time - when we arrived there were about three other people of color - as we were leaving it was 90% whites - we were in town for a convention- service was great w/Brittany- but ms georgia was not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dont eat here

thanks
b blessed

Great breakfast spot. I had their avocado omelette which was excellent. Good coffee too.

Ate here this morning, eggs benedict sone to perfection! Great location, great wait staff, incredibly hands-on owner... awesome diner in downtown Tampa.

Best family owned and operated restaurant in downtown Tampa. Samaria salad is the best.
Steve Mills
Excellent food! Avocado omelette and the belgian waffle both very delicious. Fast and friendly service and the owner came out to thank us and chat for a bit. Can't wait to return! Thanks Samaria!

Best dinner in Florida a must stop in and good price !

Good choice for breakfast. Had the opportunity to eat breakfast here twice while in town for a convention. Tried the Florentine Benedict for my first visit, and it was delicious - two poached eggs, Canadian bacon, spinach, and tomato slices on an English muffin, covered with a good Hollandaise sauce. Decent coffee is served in a thermal carafe which is left on the table for you. For my second visit I had the Country Benedict, which was sausage and poached eggs on a biscuit covered with sausage gravy. This time the eggs were a touch overcooked, and the gravy was somewhat lacking in sausage, but it was good nonetheless. Overall, the service was friendly and efficient, with one quibble: when my waitress on one visit listed the choices of sides, she neglected to tell me that there was a $1.50 additional charge for fresh fruit. It was a good sized portion, so I didn't complain; but customers really ought to be informed of that BEFORE they get the bill.
Georgia
To the previous comment from Leslie we weren't empty we had a line out the door and my server at the told me you were complaining that it is going to take a long time to receive your order without even giving the order in. How would you know how long it will be?
I was trying to acknowledge you to take your order . But you left with an attitude and I am not acting as a Hostess , I am the Owner and you have no right to give an opinion like that ! We are a Popular Restaurant downtown in Tampa and we have a lot of Customers who come to our Restaurant Regularly. We work very hard as owners and I will protect my Business .
Leslie Ruiz
I have only walked into this place once and walked right out. Not only was service slow when the place was half empty, the owner acting as hostess was SO NASTY! When I went to leave to get food elsewhere she just about bit my head off in front of everyone! Ill never spend a dime of my money in that place. That lady has NO CLASS!
Marque1313
2 thumbs up. Have been here several times and the food and service have been great. I ordered a turkey club sandwich which was not on the menu & they made it straight away. Def reccomend if you are in the downtown area during the day.

Food and Service is great. I have been here many times. To the cheerful lady that seats you, to the wait staff to the fresh menu...this place is great. Last time I came here for a quick lunch, my waitress filled my soda 3 times. It seems like a greasy spoon on appearance, but this place is FAR from it. They make an awesome salad and a yummy burger.
Michael Paul Lukacina
Large Greek Diner w/ large menu. I would avoid the Gyro meat & the Quiche. Both were extremely dry unappetizing. Very awkward vibe with the owner/chef walking around. With so many other options for breakfast on this block I would think they would need to upgrade the menu and dinning space to stay relevant in the downtown scene.
Kim Smith
The service was horrible. The food was amazing. We saw our server one time the whole time we were eating. The buser brought us everything we needed and was a better server than the actual waitress.
Aerinea
Ordered a Cafe Au Lait to go (awning does say coffee shop) and was asked "Cafe O-What?" Had to explain three times how to make it. She then made change from a pile of cash, no register or receipt. Other server was cursing loudly in earshot about a coworker. Hostess was on her cell phone the whole time.

WORST service in all of downtown Tampa!. I had the horrible experience of eating at this establishment. The food left nothing to be desired. I did make a complaint about my food which fell on deaf ears. We had to speak with the owner about an error, the the owner quickly recognized the error and stated that she couldnt change it in the computer (what a load of crap!) The owner became loud and hostile. I have been to McDonald's and received better treatment and a resolution of trying to appease the customer. I work downtown and have been there many times but never again! I guess everything is fine until you point out an issue.

Horrible and Rude. Never expect to experience "The customer is always right" here. This spot has changed so much in the past 5 yrs you never know what to expect when you go in. I think my first visit it was a Sports Bar, I even recall having paper menus during one of the many changes. Today Samaria is decked out with uniform waitresses, a hostess and an atmosphere quiet enough to have lunch conversation. Although the menu covers every area of mealtime, it was way too much to decide what I wanted. Since this is lunch I decided a sandwich and salad would do just fine. Four pages of menu and no option listed for sandwich and salad. So I requested the assistance of our waitress who patiently waited while we tried to narrow down the 100 items offered all day. Sandwich comes with one side she says, fries or potato salad; may I substitute the side and have a side salad, unfortunately side salad is not listed on this menu. Really all of the items listed and no where is there an option for a side salad or the price. She was happy to accommodate my request and substitute the side salad. Then the check comes, $7 for the grilled chicken sandwich and another $4.50 for the salad. Someone does not know the difference between substitution and an extra charge.
I requested to speak to the manager, she agreed that her employee was mistaken when she said I could make the substitution & that was a mistake she will have a long talk with her about but for me the price will not change. Why do I pay for your employee mistake as the manager and owner you are quick to acknowledge the waitress was wrong but offer no solution to me for the extra charge. Never again shall I visit Samaria. The manager/owner never offered an apology and addition was was rude and sarcastic in a crowded restaurant that she doesn't need LUCK she is fortunate to take an extra $4.50 from suckers like me!!!!
Brent James-Andrew Warner
Worst service in the world. Do not go here. You'll sit and wait for a waitress but no one will come over to your table. Terrible. We left this dump.

Incredible Food!!. We stopped by today for brunch and we were incredibly happy that we did!! My Spinach Mushroom Quiche was light, airy and cooked perfectly. My friends Country Benedict was superb! The owner, Georgia stopped by to ensure that our food was cooked perfectly and she has a smile that seems to go on forever. We will definitely be back and I will gladly recommend Samaria Cafe to all my friends and neighbors!! Downtown Tampa is blessed to have such a great place to relax and enjoy good old fashioned homestyle cooking!

Just went here for the first time this morning and I must say it was a great experience. Apart from the excellent food and tremendous service, they catered to our dog by bringing her a big water bowl and some whole wheat bread which she thoroughly enjoyed. Eggs Benedict florentine were out of this world. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious breakfast in a great atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back soon!

Samaria Cafe :)))). My friend and I went to visit down town Tampa to have something for breakfast. We were going to eat at First Watch originally but it was over crowded so we decided to try somewhere else. Samaria Café was near by so we decided to give it a whirl. I was greeted as soon as I walked in by a very welcoming lady. I asked for a window seat and she went out of her way to make sure we got to sit in one. The waitress came by and asked what we wanted to drink. I am not a coffee person but I was super tired from the night before and asked her to make me something that I would like. She also went out of her way and made me a chocolate and caramel ice mocha. It was the best barista I have ever had. My friend ordered a waffle with strawberries and blueberries topped with whip cream and I had Country Benedict. The food was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone who wants great food and great service. Thank You Samaria café for a wonderful experience!!!!

The food was fresh, and excellent. I ordered over easy eggs tomato slices and wheat toast and asked them to make it into a sandwich. It was delicious and light. The other person I ate with ordered a ham and cheese omelet with homefries and toast. It was enormous, and I sampled his homefries, which were seasoned well and home made. I would definitely return. The two meals plus 2 coffees cost $20 tax included The owner was there and was very engaging and sweet, and was appreciative of our business.

Our Sunday Morning Breakfast Spot. My husband and I come here most Sundays for a killer Florentine Eggs Benedict (Florentine = add Tomatoes and Spinach). We are always greeted by both owners, an enthusiastic Greek husband and wife team. The homemade hollandaise sauce is thick and creamy and lemony -- very good. The canadian bacon is thick cut and tangy with a distinct flavor. The fresh tomatoes and spinach lighten up this savory dish. If you are very paticular about your benedict, as my husband is, make sure to tell them you'd like your eggs slightly runny and your english muffin very crisp. This is the best benedict I have found in Tampa, save for the Green Room at the Hardrock Casino, which costs considerably more. I recommend also adding on a fresh fruit bowl for $1.50. Oh, and the Home Fries are a MUST. Perfectly cooked, crispy and lightly spiced -- just great! Their coffee is a bit pricey ($3.50/cup), however we spoke to the owner personally and he said he'd rather buy "the good stuff" and charge more for it than serve garbage coffee. I respect that. It is good ... Seattle's Best, I believe. Finally, their omelettes are huge (as are all of their portions) and well worth the $8-$10. We keep our bill around $20 for two big eaters by ordering ice water to drink. You never walk away hungry from Samaria but are sure to walk away full and happy with a doggie bag! It's always nice to walk around downtown Tampa afterwards and take in our beautiful city, enjoy the Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park across Ashley street, visit the new Glacier's Children's Museum, or tour the historic University of Tampa just across the river off of Kennedy St. We also like to sit on the river front by Mailio's Prime Steak House (just behind Samaria on Ashley St.) and watch the boats go by. It's a lovely way to enjoy downtown and burn some extra calories after a hearty breakfast at Samaria Cafe.

Great Food, Overpriced. They have an extensive menu. Ant the food is typically well prepared. A challenge is that the breakfast portions are huge and overpriced. I have yet to see a female make a significant dent in their order. They need to offer smaller, better priced options.

Great food, great prices, great service! My go to spot downtown!

Bad Experience. My wife and I went there for breakfast. We sat at the bar and overheard the three waitresses behind the counter fight over which one would be stuck providing us service--apparently no one wanted to help us. The loser of the argument asked us what we want and we ordered two cappuccini. However, we asked for a double shot of espresso and less milk. My wife also ordered Cuban toast and cheese. The coffee took forever, the first waitress did not know how to make it so she had to have someone else do it. We finally received the cappuccini and they were very weak and flavorless. We finished our cappuccini and my wife still had not received her Cuban toast (she or course wanted the toast with her coffee). We asked where it was and they told us that they accidentally made a Cuban sandwich and that they would make her the Cuban toast. By that time we were fed up and said forget it and expressed our displeasure. Surprisingly, they did not offer any discount or try to make up for the bad service. The bill for the two cappuccini was shockingly $9.59. We could not believe they charged so much for what we received, and we just paid it to get out of there. Never again.

The restaurant reminded me of First Watch. The ambiance and menu were essentially the same fare. The food was cooked well and overall the meal was quite enjoyable (I had the eggs Benedict w/ grits). I felt like there was a serious lack of greek flair that I assumed would be laid on heavy. The staff is quite pleasant and the head cook / owner brings every dish out and asks how everything is. Good place to stop if you are looking for a satisfying breakfast.

Wonderful Breakfast!. I've been coming here off and on the past year for breakfast and have never been disappointed. Georgia is very nice, Brian is a very good server and the food has always been delicious. I especially love the wonderful tomatos they seem to be able to find - a great alternative to potatoes! I guess I'll have to try it for lunch sometime!

Great Food and Great Value. Samaria Cafe is a fantastic place to eat. There is a wonderful variety of food and it has always been cooked to perfection. The prices can't be beat! I go there all the time and have never been disappointed.

Thank you urbanspoon for helping us to find this wonderful place! Great atmosphere! Friendly staff! Amazing breakfast- portions, prices, taste! The hollandaise sauce is homemade and the best I've ever had. I will certainly visit again when back in Tampa!

There's no place like home!!!. Georgia and her husband Eftechios make this cafe a great place to visit over and over again. They greet you immediately at the door with a huge welcome and a smile. They also take the time to get to know their customers. The food is fantastic and affordable! The portion sizes are large enough to share and the price is right. The quiche is phenomenal and the gyro omelette is even better, a real taste of the Greek culture. The atmosphere is relaxing and what a great place to enjoy your morning or afternoon. When you visit Samaria's Café, make sure you ask Georgia for her famous frappe.

Samaria cafe is a little gem in downtown. The food is tasty and well presented, but it's the service and welcoming attitude presented to you from the owner herself (who will recieve you with "Welcome to Paradise!" upon entering) that really makes it special. In today's busy life, it's nice to feel welcomed, remembered and full! ;) enjoy!!

I feel at home!. One of the best things about Samaria Cafe is the owners. They treat you like a guest in their home and their home is CLEAN! The wait staff is friendly and consistent too. I also love the food because it's FRESH unlike many other breakfast places that use frozen veggies and canned:( mushrooms....ewe! The egg white omelete's are the BEST IN TOWN..totally fluffy! You can find so many healthy things on the menu and they make whatever you want without a huge extra, extra, extra fee. I am so glad to see a new breakfast place in downtown Tampa that can easily be a morning destination.

Surprisingly friendly and delicious. With the dying restaurants in downtown Tampa it was a relief to walk across Samaria Cafe. The friendly staff made us feel a part of their family. The food was not only tasteful, (their french fries set the bar), but it was cheap. Everyone contributed input to my indecisive mind and even the chef made rounds and spoke to every patron. Samaria Cafe is defintely worth the visit.
Heather
Great Breakfast Place. Samaria Cafe is definitely the best mom-and-pop restaurant in Tampa. The food is great but the service and attention given by the staff and especially Georgia is what sets it apart from all other surrounding restaurants. Everytime I've been there she checks to make sure everything is ok with your food and if you need anything else. If you go there more than a few times, she will remember you and will go out of her way to take time to chat. Make sure you go there hungry.. The portions are huge.
Reviewer2
Good food, big portions. The gyro omelet is awesome. The portions are huge and the prices are great. Georgia has always been friendly to me.
Kelly
Perfect Brunch Spot!. I just took my mom there yesterday. The food was delicious and like always the portions huge. My vegie egg white omelette was cooked perfect and the service was faster than ever. My mom loved her raspberry turkey panini and sweet potato fries....she gets it every time. They are a new business and it takes a few months to get things running smoothly and efficiently, but i think they are doing a great job and the food as well as the service is better every time. T cooking with Pam instead of butter or oil idea that first watch has picked up on would be awesome though.... anything to cut the fat so i can splurge on the awesome carrot raisin muffins! :)
As far as the service and owners are concerned... everyone is ALWAYS super friendly and Georgia is the BEST! She goes out of her way to check on her customers and get them what they would like or need to make their meal exactly what they want whether it be ordering crystal hot sauce or make suggestions as to what they could whip up in the kitchen when I brought a friend who has a gluten allergy.
100% rec Samaia cafe!
Sol
Samaria Cafe is AWESOME!!!!! Way better then FirstWatch!. Samaria AKA Georgia's Place... is the best breakfast place in Tampa period. They have an amazing breakfast ... all of their fruit and Veggies are fresh. They have awesome coffee (Joffries Coffee sp?) and the food is hands down WAY better then FirstWatch... which does not use fresh anything!...YUK!
My sister Kimmy and I live in downtown and were going to Firstwatch for years... once Samaria opened up, we have never been back. The owners of Samaria are very friendly and extremely kind... they specifically ordered Crystal sauce at my request!
We go to Samaria at least two times a week the food is always excellent. Georgia the owner is the sweetest person... I DO NOT believe the reviewer below, because, their description of this restaurant is completely inaccurate!
Thanks,
Scotty

Dont Like it! I should have just went next door!. My fiance' and I chose this place for breakfast on a Sunday, over First Watch right next door. It was probably the worst mistake I ever made. I ordered a SIMPLE bacon and cheese omelet. The food took forever to come out, and my omelet was loaded with everything besides bacon and cheese and was completely wrong. I sent the order back just to have it take another half hour and I get a dry omelet with about a pound of bacon and no cheese. To top it off the toast they originally had given me right, came back also wrong with the new meal! It was absolutely disgusting and when I complained to the manager she said she would take care of it. After the second time I complained I was fed up and tired of waiting so just asked our server to have her manager comp my meal since it was disgusting. The manager REFUSED to do so and finally after arguing with her she agreed to comp me "30%" of my meal, which was only $1. I spent 6 bucks on hash browns since I never even touched the omelet. I told the manager this was my first and last time coming here and she replies with "that's absolutely fine". Horrible service, and no accountability for their mistakes. beware!
Moomoo_321
Insensitive Owner. I had lunch there and ordered a feta, artichoke omelete. The omelete was cooked well and the artichoke was big and chunky the way I like it. But the feta cheese for some reason was overly salty. I brought it to the owner's/manager's attention and she asked me if I had ever tasted feta before (which I have plenty of times) and then proceeded to blame it on my taste buds ("It must be your taste buds.") She then informed me that another customer had no problem with it and her husband after tasting it didn't see anything wrong and it must be me. I know that feta isn't supposed to be salty. But her reaction to my comments was very arrogant in tone.

Good Food, Good Prices. You get a lot for what you pay for. It is a little slow, so if you are short on time you should either call ahead or skip it. Friendly staff and good salads and sandwiches.

Basic, but great. All veggies were fresh which is pretty much all you can ask for. When I got home I kicked myself because I just so happened to have all of the ingredients! lol On the plus side there was actually more spinach in the salad than a full bag from the grocery store. So on that note absolutely worth the money as far as a salad goes. The dressing was a balsamic vinaigrette, nothing unique, probably grocery bought and out of a bottle. All in all a great place to stop in on an afternoon for lunch! We were greeted warmly upon entering the cafe and observed that was the rule for whoever walked in the door. The cafe has a lot of bright and open space and you can be seated at a booth or regular table. We asked for a table right in the center of things, so we could observe our surroundings. After looking over the menu, we ordered a cheeseburger and fries, a mushroom omelette, and pancakes. After a reasonable period of time, our food arrived. All of the food was okay, but nothing really wowed me. I really wished we had enjoyed the food there more because the setting was a cozy breakfast spot and the service and attention offered to the customers by the owners and servers was excellent. However, I do notice that there are a lot of raves on the food by other urbanspoon users, so I would still say one should give it a try if they are in the area because yo

Everything is fresh, and homemade. In many visits, I have never been disappointed! I usually order Quiche, or Eggs Benedict, but last time I was really in the mood for a “Croque Madame”, which is popular in France, and simply a Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwich, with a fried egg on top.
