Fibber Mcgees

This place is a joke. Nobody knows what day it is or what planet they're on. Our server told us there wasn't a lunch menu (when there was), wasn't a beer menu (when there was), told us they didn't have and never had straws (even though there is a sign posted that they are available on request), corrected me while I was ordering saying they didn't carry the item and should “probably take it off the menu”, brought a bud light draft when we ordered bottles, and filled the keurig machine with coffee instead of water (literally poured coffee into the water container on the machine), and wouldnt take a literal fibber mcgees gift card.

While staying in Ocean Isle for a 5K run, one of residents of the condo suggested this place for us to eat dinner and boy was that a score! The atmosphere was wonderful, excellent service and the food was incredible! I had the seafood casserole and the other three with me all had different seafood choices. Not one disappointed. Will be back for sure!

I've been here a few times and it's remarkably consistent. It's a great stop for some pub style food. It's not 5 stars because they make some interesting choices with the menu. Their "homemade" chips are clearly from a bag. It's fine to serve bagged chips, just don't call them homemade in the menu. The French dip comes on a croissant, and the cheesesteak comes on a hamburger bun. They're both tasty, but its a very odd choice of bread for those two classics. I'll likely be back, but with more questions about the menu before ordering.

I never leave reviews at restaurants but I felt that it’s needed for this place. Me and my friend were nothing but amazed by the service and food. It was AMAZING. our server carolyn was very helpful in letting us know what the meal consisted of and made a suggestion for the grouper rockefeller. It was the best food i have ever eaten. everything was hot and delicious. my friend got the salmon burger and was also in love with it. We’ve been here talking about the exceptional food and service for thirty minutes now. We also loved the music and vibe of the place. It felt amazing out with no flies or bugs in sight.

Great dinner! I had the Reuben. It was very good. I ordered a side of fries and they were fresh and hot, but pricey (4.95). Chips or cole slaw were the sides, but sometimes you need fries! The coleslaw was okay, but there was a little "extra" herb (not sure if it was dill), that was too much for me, personally. My group sat outside, because the wait for an inside table was 30 minutes and we had plans later. One friend ordered the appetizer scallops - $19.00 😮 My British friend had the Fish and Chips and she raved over them! Said they were as good as the dish in England! I have been to Fibbers many times and will continue to dine there.

A pretty solid spot with surprisingly good food. It's an unassuming joint and you'd be forgiven for thinking "hey, it's an Irish bar, no bid deal." But you'd be wrong! Good shrimp and crab dip, solid crab "burger", good scallops, and prompt, friendly service. My only minor critique was the calamari had a heavier breading than I prefer. But it was still tender and delicious. Overall if you want a break from the shore haunts, give this a try. Sit on the patio if the weather warrants and you won't be disappointed.
