Simply Southern Bistro

I would give this 20 stars if I could !! This was the BEST restaurant We’ve ever had! My boyfriend and I came down to Sumter for my grandmother’s funeral. Looking for something good to eat and he came across this place. BEST THING EVER !!!!!!! Wish we’d taken pictures. Now I’ll let him explain and type !! The menu is different and very unique while having great staples on it. The she crab soup is A1 the crab cakes are a great app to start the meal. Meats are cook to a perfect temp. The chicken and waffles are better than places like that specialize in that dish. This place is a gem 5 stars does not give enough credit for the food quality.

My first time here, the bistro was clean, with a spacious atmosphere and the staff was great with service and masking! 😷 We ordered the fried mushrooms, chicken biscuit (1/2 order) with a side of fried Mac, and the cranberry turkey sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly! I will definitely be adding this to the list of places I can bring my parents when I visit! 2nd visit for dinner: Still amazing! Seafood pizza and pasta were both nommmmy and while my dad said he could have used more onions and mushrooms on his hamburger steak, he cleaned his plate. Our server, Megan, was really nice and knew just how to take good care of my grumpy Ninja Mom 😁 Always a win! Will definitely be back!

Staff was great! Server & manager both very friendly & attentive. Expensive for what it was! Only one of the 4 of us really liked what they ordered ("Seafood Pie" was a special, and it was delicious)... The regular menu items were average - burger (decent, but others in town better), chicken & waffle (chicken cooked perfectly, waffle kind of flavorless - again, other C&W in town better), chicken & biscuit (mashed potatoes were cold, biscuits were dry). Not the worst place in town, but we were disappointed overall.

Ordered a half order of Chicken and a Biscuit. When it arrived, the gravy and mash potatoes were cold. I let the waitress know that the food was cold and she apologized profusely. When the food came back, it was clear that they had microwaved the food to warm it. The food is not fresh. My husband and daughter ordered the Simple Burger. Both ordered their burgers medium, but they arrived well done. My husband’s fries were oldand clearly cooked at an earlier time. All of this cost us $70 including tip. I didn’t dock the waitress for the kitchen’s failure. We definitely won’t be back. Save your money and visit another local establishment.

We had a great experience here! The pimento cheese was tasty...we could have used more pita to scoop it up. We both got a special the ravioli with shrimp and sausage was very rich. The ribeye was perfectly cooked and the French fries were on point. The service was spot on and we will definitely be back to try more meals! Cheers 🍻
