We arrived on their grand opening night for dinner dining which required a reservation that we did not have. We were graciously met with a let’s find you a table solution. We were pleased with a fantastic outdoor table. The service, food and experience makes us want to return. This in my opinion is the best restaurant in Sumner. Appreciate the fantastic service!

Their eggs benedict was absolutely delicious ! 10/10 hollandaise ! The portion is quite big — I’d recommend paying the extra $2 for a fresh fruit substitute in place of the potatoes. The scone is best warm so I’d eat it first. Will definitely come back in the future to try other items.

My husband and I decided to celebrate our 27th anniversary here yesterday. GREAT decision! He had the Penne with Grilled Chicken in a creamed pesto sauce and I had the Crab Mac & Cheese. He also had a salad to start which was so large we HAD to share it. We finished with sharing a piece of the chocolate cake, too. Everything was incredibly DELICIOUS!!! SO DECADENT! And the cab wine I had with my meal was nice too. Our waitress, Shelby, was absolutely the best! Thank you, Shelby! We were very pleased that we decided to dine 'al fresco' surrounded by the gorgeous gardens. It was quieter than the dining room and the weather was very pleasant. All in all, it was one of the best celebrations we've had for our wedding anniversary, and we will definitely be back! This is now our new most favourite restaurant locally. After lunch, we toured the beautifully maintained, fabulous greenhouse as well and treated ourselves to a couple of commemorative plants. :)

This review is for rental of the space for our rehearsal dinner. When we decided to get married in Sumner, we knew we would love to have our rehearsal dinner somewhere in the area. After a quick Google search, we stumbled upon Windmill Bistro. We're glad we did! The grounds are absolutely amazing and a stunning first look at the area for out-of-town guests. They have the perfect area for rehearsing a wedding, and in those nice summer months, the flowers are in full bloom and the weather is pleasant. The nicest thing about this restaurant is that they closed the place for our private event. We were able to rent out the entire space, which is beautifully decorated and spacious. Even for our large group of 60, folks were able to mix and mingle. Overall, I would highly recommend looking into Windmill for your rehearsal dinner. That said, there are two areas of opportunity for the Bistro. Communication is challenging. Because they are a small restaurant, they do not have a full-time dedicated events person, so it wasn't always easy to get a response in a timely manner. Closer to our rehearsal dinner, it was better, but leading up was tough at times. Second, I'd recommend that if you do a buffet, you opt not for the taco bar. While it was fine, it's very basic and bland. We've eaten there several times and have always enjoyed our burgers and seafood - I'd recommend going that route for your menu choice. Overall, it was fantastic and the perfect way to kick off the wedding weekend! (Photos by Courtney Bowlden Photography)

Cute little cafe at the windmill gardens. Food was ok, basically standard breakfast fair, nothing amazing. My eggs were the star of my plate but my potatoes were soggy. The scone seemed like it was frozen or pre packaged. The staff was friendly but it did seem understaffed. Not a bad place, but they could improve the quality of their food by simply paying more attention to detail.

Prices are a little above average but the interesting selection of menu items and friendly ambiance balance the cost. Server was friendly and restaurant was quiet on a Wednesday afternoon, but I hear weekends are busy.
