$10 for a huge ribeye with potatoes and salad? Yes that's a special - not sure which day(s). Can you have it your way, medium rare? No you can't. They need those juices for the potato, but it's $10, pretty tender, still way better than rubber sirloin or strip, and definitely rib-eye. I'll give Charlie's a 5.0 if they let us change level it's cooked for $2 and throw butter to compensate for lost juices. Either way, it's $10, I'll be back, and they have seafood as well.
Great sea food worth the drive. Dont eat the crackers, lots of food. Family oriented frequented by locals. Great place! Crab balls, fried crab, crab cakes, its all there! Good gumbo!

Best Fried Catfish!. Since I've lived my entire life in Southern Louisiana, I think of myself as a big time seafood lover and do know good or bad seafood when it's served to me. At a recent visit to Charlie's I had the #2 fried seafood combo (catfish, shrimp, oysters & stuffed crab). The fried catfish was 1st rate, never had better (forget about that over inflated place up the street in Manchac, this fried catfish will beat anyone in N.O.)! Fried shrimp was nice sized and wonderfully seasoned, the fried oysters were a little dry and small but still flavorful and the stuffed crab was excellent and prepared the old fashioned way in the actual crab shell (not that tinfoil thing) with a perfect blend of seasoning. But back to the catfish...extremely fresh, fried to order (does take a little extra time, but isn't that what you came here far?), perfectly seasoned/battered and a good thickness (I like thicker fillets...not that thin stuff that seems like nothing but fried batter) and most importantly...greaseless! Next visit I'll do either the catfish/shrimp combo or just a platter full of that wonderful fried catfish, yes indeed!!
Super good food, all of it!!. We were planning a trip from Prairieville to the Taste of Bavaria restaurant in Springfield when we found that
they had closed. What a disappointment! However in looking on Urbanspoon we found Charlies and decided to
try it out. Yes, it's noisy and there is a little wait but boy that food is out of this world, all of it!
My wife is very critical when it comes to food. She raved over Charlie's fried catfish. It tasted really differently
from the usual fried fish.......like the oil was super clean and almost sweet. Myself, I ordered a grilled seafood
platter and it was by far the best I have ever had in a restaurant. The grilled oysters were delicious and the grilled
catfish was super. Their grilled shrimp were also good. Of all the restaurants on our circuit, I now place Charlie's
at Number One. Philay's got moved down to Number Two.
Best lunch special around, expensive? I'm not sure why I have seen this in a few reviews, maybe y'all should go hit the dollar menu at Mcds. Good value and great food. Not to mention you can can speak to Charlie or Marla whenever you have a problem.
Out standing. My wife and i have been coming here for about a yr now , and we love the food best see food,around. and the stake? will melt in your mouth huge and thick, if you leve hungry dont blam them lol your plate over run, staf has all ways been friendly and has even took time to stand and chat awile ,, now dont be in a herry when you get ther as ther is usely a wate but not all that long naver been over 20 min for us, parking is a bit tuff, at times , as for as price well i think it very fare, and as for me the qulity of the food is awsome , better then any were in baton rouge for sure, come give it a try and see for your self i think youll love it as well, keep up the good work charlie
I am sooooo so happy that we drove out to Charlie's! It was still busy at 8pm but we got seated pretty quick. The food was amazing!! The seafood platter was wayyyyy too much for me. I fed two small kids off of it and still had half left. Seriously. It was $28 but SPLIT it!!!! The service was friendly too, we got lucky and got a fun, bubbly waitress. We will be back!!!

My family frequents Charlie's weekly,this place has the best seafood &steaks in a statewide radius! CHARLIE'S SEAFOOD PLATTER will feed two (2) easily (piled high)and the huge ribeye steak will melt in your mouth!!! Now get there quick,you'll LOVE IT!

Well Worth a Visit! Fresh and Delicious!. This mom & pop restaurant is a bit secluded and kind of out of the way if you are not a local. I drove here while in New Orleans for work - just to have lunch. It comes greatly recommended by word of mouth from locals. It has been open since the year 2000.
The restaurant lacks atmosphere of any sort, other than the atmosphere created by the chatter of the locals, or the entire sheriffs office having lunch, but that is not why people come here. The food is fresh and delicious!
Very good Gumbo - definitely must try it.
If you want a PoBoy but not a lot of food, order the small one (it's a foot long). Also, very well made!
The fried seafood platter #3 (one of eight offered) - oh so fresh and perfectly golden fried. Good portion of oysters and shrimp, with a lot of fish. I was disappointed of the stuffing in the stuffed crab - but I think it was the particular spices or flavors that were used that didn't work for me.
I don't like hush puppies and the ones I tried here were amazingly good! They were moist and slightly sweet - very good!
Everything (except salad was not freshly cut) was fresh and freshly made!!! I recommend one visit is a must if anywhere in the area. Worth the drive.
Charlies is always great. It isn’t a fancy restaurant but there food is 2nd to none. You get a lot of food for your money. We love steak night. You get a 14 oz rib eye steak cooked to perfection with a giant baked potato and one side. They also make one of the best potato salads I have ever ate. Service is great and it is a fun atmosphere. Just down home folks. Their Seafood is always cooked perfectly and very consistent. Try it out you won’t be disappointed.

This place rite here, CHAWWW!! I would speak French its so good but then you wouldn't understand. If you ever intown or looking for a new place, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! THE FOOD IS SO GOOD, AND A GREAT STAFF THAT WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU!!
We got take out. Curbside. $75 bought enough great seafood for 3 meals for 2 people. And I'm a big eater. Dinner, followed by a nice big lunch followed by another big dinner. My wife did think some stuff too spicy but not enough for me. So they hit middle of the road. When the virus is behind us and we're in the neighborhood again, we'll go and sit down. Recommended.

Was welcomed and seated right away. The service and food was top notch. The oysters and froglegs were some of the best I have ever had. Had a great time and will come back.
I recommend every one who loves poboys and seafood to come!
