Saltwater Grille

The Saltwater Grille is a great little tucked away spot in South Portland! It doesn’t seem too touristy. There is a huge menu with a seafood focus, but the menu offers a little of everything— so something for everyone! Definitely ask to sit on the deck, you won’t regret it! Their wine list is extensive. We loved the dry rose (pictures) it was delicious! Call ahead for a reservation, plenty of parking, friendly staff! Be sure to go for sunset!

We were very happy with our food, the service, and the atmosphere! I had the fried seafood platter. Everything was exceptional, except the coleslaw, which was average. The platter was big enough for 2 average eaters to share. The price of the food is high, but to be expected, with the quality, the atmosphere, and the region. Since it was December, we were seated at 6pm with no wait, I would highly recommend reservations during the peak season.

Took the Mrs. out for a night on the town and stopped here for some stellar dinner along with a fantastic view facing Portland's Old Port and Waterfront across the Harbor. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our apps, dinners and drinks were delicious. While everything we had was great, whoever made the broccolini tonight deserves a raise and a call from the Mayor.

The atmosphere is definitely the draw here, we sat on the deck overlooking the water, very nice. Service was good. There was a long wait for drinks because the bar was busy, which I was okay with given staffing issues and such. I was disappointed in the "jumbo shrimp " they were $5 per shrimp and half the size I expected. The cocktail sauce wasn't good and came out still frozen. The drinks were good and I felt reasonably priced. I had seafood Newburg, it was delicious and the portion was good for the price. The sauce was 🔥. I will definitely return to try some of the other menu items. I had a hard time choosing my meal because several items sounded delicious....

A really nice dinner outside. Sure it was a little cold. And the fig was rolling in. But we were right near the dock with Portland right across the bay. It doesn't get any better than that. And then the food was all very good. Lobster and steak after 2 good salads. Topping it all off was a blueberry cobbler that was out of this world. The restaurant is a little off the beaten path but well worth the trip. The wait staff was very polite and attentive. Dining inside or out - your choice.
