Great food this visit. Hospitality shown being I have service animal. Fast service. Friendly staff. Clean restrooms. Kids menu n puzzles for them to do at the table.

I'm a big fan of Steak n Shake burgers. They also have awesome shakes. But, in my opinion everything on their menu is somewhat overpriced. And both of the Steak n Shake locations in the South Bend/Mishawaka area have horrible service. I visit both locations quite often. And if either of them have more than 4 customers inside and/or 3 cars in the driver through you can expect a minimum of a 20 to 30 minutes wait for your food. Their kitchens are very poorly managed.

I love the food here and I think the drive thru service is actually better than the sit down service.

Check your to go order prior to leaving. The lid on the coleslaw was loose and container was upside down. Upon arrival at home, when bag was lifted from the passenger seat, the bottom fell out of the bag. The coleslaw had saturated the french fries, burger and my passenger seat. Rendering all cold and inedible.

The burgers were delicious, but we were hoping they had dine-in seating. Unfortunately, they didn't so we had to eat in our vehicle. They did have some picnic tables set up for outdoor seating, but they were in full sun. Not appealing on a summer day with temperature in the 80s.
