Wild Note Café 143 S. Cedros Ave., (858) 720-9000. L-D daily; $$. A large lunch menu gives you the choice of salads, sandwiches, sliders, burgers, and Mexican items. I can vouch for both the taco salad and the hand-carved turkey sandwich (made with house-roasted turkey and big enough to share). Seating is available in a pleasant inside dining room as well as outside on a porch that is perfect on warm days. In the evening, music acts are booked into the Belly Up showroom in back.
Lobster dumplings were terrific...had fish tacos...fish was a touch dry, but the tortilla, pico and guacamole were very nice. Service was a bit spotty. I would eat here again.
We had lobster dumplings which were great and a burger which was excellent, but the fish tacos were try and boring and a huge disappointment.
Ambiance is very nice and service OK..
Better than expected. There is something off-putting about the exterior and nearby space and the interior feels a bit gimmicky in that style over substance coastal California manner. But lunch was decent. My wife's ancho chili honey glazed salmon salad was quite good. The ahi on my seared ahi sliders was very rare, a touch more warmth would have improved them but they were still pretty good and the accompanying small truffle fries were yummy.
Great lunch. Fine preparation, modest prices. 4/5 stars.
We had the enchiladas suizas and a salad with salmon both were good and enough for later! Most including us were there for a show. So except crowds all in and all out at the same time. We arrived after the show started and enjoyed a seat at the bar! Solid service. Thank you.
GREAT PRE CONCERT DINNER SPOT- we had dinner here before a concert. It was delicious. We had the ahi poke, guacamole, and bbq chicken pizza. Good drink list as well. The decor is fantastic- enjoy!
Amazing dinner started with the new smoke roasted tomato soup for the Winter night, salmon grilled with dijon mustard is THE best, finished with soft chocolate banana cake. At a night without show, the restaurant is all mine! Best kept secret, shh....
We had a great experience last night, from the hostess (sorry I didn't get your name) to our server, Caroline! They were amazing. You have to try the Tubi Doobie Doo cocktail, it was refreshingly good! We shared appetizers and LOVED the Tequila Chicken Spring Rolls, Guacamole & chips and the BBQ Pizza!!!
Ate here before a concert at the BellyUp. Chips and guacamole were a tasty app we got. My wife had the fish tacos, which arrive deconstructed and are very good. I tried the Ahi Tuna Sliders with truffle fries. The tuna was a little overcooked but the meal overall was great.
My first time at this cute little cafe in Solana Beach. I was there to visit my niece and she took me to the design district there. She lives near there and had also never tried this restaurant. The server and hostess were very nice and attentive. The food was delicious! I had the brie stuffed hamburger with mushrooms & a port wine reduction sauce. It was amazing! The slightly sweet taste if the sauce worked well with the savory very juicy & very fresh ground beef burger! She had the filet mignon sliders & my daughter had the Turkey sandwich. I would definitely recommend this place and will go back when I am back in town. Also the prices for the quality and amount of food were reasonable!#eatoutside #drinkoutside #casuallunchspot #independentrestaurant #bestburger
Haven't been here in years. Eat and drink here before heading next door to Belly Up for a concert.
I had a glass of crown and fried calamari. The calamari was yummy. Not chewy which is great. Also the edamame was good. Really flavorful seasoning.
Service was also good. Forgot her name but she was really nice and kind.
