Backyard Grill

We were SO disappointed. We had a group of six and for our last night in town we wanted BBQ. The portions were stingy. If you got French fries it counted as 2 sides! The double meat meal wasn't 2 sandwiches but 2 sliders. The bathroom was unisex with a lock on the door and one stall missing a door. I DO NOT recommend it!

A fast casual BBQ joint. Location is next to a casino, and that only matters because the casino sign is big and BBQ sign is small and you could miss it. Atmosphere was fine. They were going for a southern barn style in the look. Some of the building was unfinished. Hvac wasn't connect. It was very cold inside. Outside temp was very moderate but it was cold inside. It wasn't that busy, easy to find a place to sit at 6pm Friday night. Food was pretty good. Ordered 2 meat combo, pulled pork and brisket. Came with a drink and two sides or one order of fries. I got cheesy potato casserole and slaw. The 2 meats come on smaller sweet rolls or you can order without bread. They were around the size of a slider. Overall the food was luke warm. And it actually seemd a tad dry, particularly the brisket. The potatoes were good, but not hot. Slaw was creamy and not too tangy/vinegary. They have a classic, hot and mustard sauce. I had the classic. It was flavorful and good. The guy who rang us up appeared to be the "main person". Owner/cook or something. Nice guy. Friendly and helped with questions. Overall, it was fine. Disappointed with temperature of food. And really the temp of the dining area. I enjoy BBQ, but it didn't have a lot to pull me back anytime soon.

The food was excellent until I put their classic BBQ sauce on it! OMG talk about horrible! Prices were ok for the amount of food. I'll definitely eat there again...just won't use their sauce. Apparently my dog thinks they're the best he's ever had bc he jumped the table n got into the boxes when we left n he's never done that before! Lol

Don’t let the fast food looking atmosphere fool you. I went in thinking this appeared to be the Subway style BBQ place. You slide down the line and order cafeteria style. I was happy with about everything. Had a good smoked flavor, and was very tender. Friendly staff, and helpful if you have questions about anything. This place looks like one I would normally pass up, and move to the next, but I wanted to try something out of the norm, and I already knew I liked Famous Dave’s, which is a chain, but they also do a dang good job, so I gave this place a try. I would give this place a chance if you have not tried it yet.

Tried their food truck this evening very disappointed, I got the bbq chicken sandwich you can tell if you didn't personally put your choice of bbq sauce on it that the chicken had no flavor . Yes it was juicy and tender, but it was bland and as far as the potato salad goes you can tell it was store bought and not freshly made.

Driven by this place many times and finally decided to pop in for a try, and it did not disappoint! Love the atmosphere, and all the Halloween decorations were a cute touch. Sherry was behind the counter and was VERY patient and helpful considering we had no idea what to get. She gave us her honest opinions on everything we asked and helped us navigate the menu for what we might like. Excellent service Sherry, thank you so much! Our daughter ate all of her pulled pork, coleslaw, and cheesy hashbrowns, hubby got the 3 meat deal and ate all except the beer cheese soup, which we weren't a huge fan of. I had the 4 bone rib combo with the potato salad and the mac and cheese. The mac and cheese wasn't the best in my opinion, but the ribs and potato salad were excellent! All the sauces were very good as well. The restaurant was clean and nicely laid out, and silverware and napkins were easy to find. We were in and out in a half hour, so this a great choice for a quick lunch or dinner. Overall, it was a great experience and we will most definitely be back!
