Astons Specialities

Visited Astons on a weeknight and there was no queue at the time we arrived. We were greeted by Jay, the Assistant Manager, who was rather task oriented. As we hadn’t ordered at Astons for the last few years, we were surprised to find out that we had to order before being seated. He hurriedly sped through our ordering process even though there was still no queue behind us. Fast, accurate but lacking a proper welcome. The food was generally good. We had the ieat Super Burger, Prime beef steak, a grilled fish and some pasta. The milkshake was good too. All in all, a good experience except for a rushed welcome.

Absolutely loved it and would be back. Always thought the queue was frightening and finally had the chance to try it today for a late lunch. Taste and portion was very good, and at this price point, it's even much cheaper than cooking at home. This is another one of my favourite western restaurant, alongside with Josh's grill, with Collins being far behind

The Spanish Chestnut Pork (seasonal item - $17.90) is a little unassuming and pricey at first glance, but it is one of the best pork I ever had. Very tender and juicy. Not sure about the quality at the other outlets, but the dish served at Suntec is exceptional. Had a Cafe Mocha ($3.50) which is velvety and smooth, slightly on the sweet side but I feel that for the quality it is worth the price. Caffeine doesn't seem that strong though. Edit (as of 16/07/22): Chestnut pork has become a permanent item on the menu. It's slightly harder and chewy now as compared to the previous one but still delicious.

We had the medium ribeye steak XL cut, side dishes baked potatoes and corn. Everything is good, but the steak have some tough parts. But considering of the price, think it's still reasonable. As the reason for 3 stars, their beef bolognese is a no go. The pasta was watery at first and we request for a change. Return back with a new one, but the taste is like a very basic pasta.
