South 40

Absolutely THE BEST PRIME RIB I've ever had! Well marbeled, with a good amount of (trimmable) fat left on for flavor. (Most places overtrim prime rib prior to serving, as customers think they should only get meat when getting a premium Prime Rib steak, but this South 40 knows its better to leave it and hear an occasional "Why am I paying for 4 ozs of fat" than to compromise the Prime Rib's flavor. Perfectly cooked Medium. The downstairs restaurant looks like a rustic 1960-70's lounge/restaurant with dark wood, burgundy carpet, and a well stocked salad bar. I married into a Greek Restaurant family and appreciate good food and great places. South 40 is a rare find. This is a great place. If you are anywhere near Sidney, you owe it to yourself to stop here. Sunday evening at 6:30 was a good time to come, not too busy, and well staffed. Carmen, my waitress, was awesome.

Traveled from out of town and was referred to eat here. Was seated quickly but not helped for about 10min. The hostess brought me something to drink. My server finally took my order and never returned. My steak was well done (ordered medium) and no bread arrived even though it was offerred. No one came back to check on me. The waitress brought me my bill and left again. I waited at the hostess stand to pay. Other tables were waited on, checked on etc. I felt outcasted as a single traveler. Would not recommend to anyone visiting from out of town.

For tourists this couldn't be anymore confusing to get to restaurant. Ended up being late to restaurant, waitress was very nice and encouraged us to stay but we left after coffee and our friend had a beer. We paid, tipped, and left apologizing for our late arrival, after roaming the bar and building trying to figure it out. Tourists, save some time, go right up to the bar and ask for help to locate restaurant, signs inside make no sense and google arrives you directly at bar (downstairs of building)
