This is a consistant favorite of mine. Whenever I crave steak, I head to Anthony's. They are well-seasoned, tender, and reasonably priced. I also love their salad bar with the hommade potato salad and that amazing Peppercorn Ranch Dressing. The waitstaff could be a little friendlier and accomodating. I tried to bring a group there for my birthday several years. Each time, the staff acted like they wanted to scream, cry, and kick us out because we wanted to split the check four ways. It really caused tension on my night and insulted my guests. Needless to say, my birthday tradition was moved elsewhere and we haven't had an issue since.

Now for a different kind of review for a different kind of restaurant.
Anthony's has been around quite some time. As this part of Mansfield Rd has slowly faded into history they have marched on and upgraded the building as those around them disappear. The salad bar, lunch specials, steaks, service, all good and better than most.
But what I really want to point out is the passion that the owner has. OK some say "rude" However he is one of the few restaurateurs locally that cares enough to defend his food, staff and establishment that he has worked so hard to perfect. Who else responds to Urbanspoon / Zomato reviews around here? All of this in an area, as I mentioned that isn't on the upswing. This place would thrive on Line Ave. or on the Southern Loop were the clientele are more affluent and appreciate fine dinning. For Anthony to stay here and provide this community with it's only fine dinning establishment deserves a special nod of gratitude and thanks.
I'll admit I don't frequent the place like I once did. Not because it's not good, it is, but I no longer find myself in this area. I do admire Anthony for sticking it out, the restaurant is a little shinning beacon in a famished area. However I would love to see them make the move to another area of town. Ellerbe Rd., Line Ave, the dreaded Youree Dr. all seem like better fits for a nice, upscale steakhouse like Anthony's
I don't personally know Anthony, I don't know any of his staff. I do know that a restaurant like his would thrive in most any town or city in the U.S. I assume they are still doing well in their current location, but just remember, the captain doesn't have to go down with the ship if the ship can still move!
Fabulous steaks and lovely ambience. The marinated crab claws are very meaty and delicious. I've read other reviews that complain about pricing, but I would prefer a better meal with a better environment for which I am willing to pay. Just the perfect amount of food to not feel too full or uncomfortable. Delicious!
We love eating here! Best steak in town, even compared to Superior's, and the potatoes au gratin are delicious. We always have good service and a pleasant experience.

Simply one of the finer restaurants in town.. and IMO there's just not that many around here. Anthony has been around a long time and he is supberb at what he does. The food and service is always consistent. We have been dining here for both lunch and dinner (when we are able to get lucky enough to have a date night) for many years and have never been disappointed. My husband loves the steak and soft shell crab and I the shrimp scampi... his AuGratin potatoes are to die for! No others can come close to his potatoes. The salad bar is on the small side true.. but our absolutely favorite salad bar in town. The quality, freshness, & selections are perfect! Try his ranch dressing.. It's wonderful!! I saw where a reviewer said that the entree portions were small. Actually, it's perfectly proportioned. They serve you bread & a salad along with your entree. We always order the marinated crab claws as well and after all that.. we both cannot finish our entrees. This is fine dining.. so if you want quality, tasteful food by a well experienced "chef" then Anthony's is a must!

This place has the most tender and juicy steak I have ever eaten.they have a wonderful salad bar which you don't get in many places.the augratin potatoes are often imitated but can never be duplicated.the service was excellent and they have a great wine selection too.If you are looking for quality food and service with a nice cozy and quiet atmosphere,this is the place.

Ok, so, the outside is a little scary. Small sign in disrepair, fenced - possibly shady - blue collar neighbors, small parking lot house restaurant. We considered moving on... but they made some effort with the flower beds and the other reviews seemed like they might be real. I'M SO GLAD WE STAYED. They absolutely know how to cook. From the bread thru the appetizers and the main course...everything was cooked to perfection with clearly quality ingredients. I've been to 5 star, triple the cost, restaurants that didn't rival this place for high quality meals. The environment is different than you expect for the prices but still worth it. Sit back and enjoy the quaint mom and pop feel of this high end restaurant. You'll be glad you did.
I'd give 10 stars! Wonderful service! The chef is amazing! The bread was perfect! The Crab St Martin is the best thing I've ever tasted! My salmon and potatoes were so 😋! One review was dissing the potatoes being the only option-NOTHING COMPARES! PERIOD! Definitely a return customer!

Chef never fails! Food is always good. Always treat me and my wife here on special occasions and when we just want to get out just the two of us.
Nice & quaint restaurant with a warm welcome & very attentive & hospitable service. Side salads are 'average' but oh my- the steaks are amazing! Seared to perfection and cooked to just the right temperature. Juicy and flavorful. The potato au gratin, frog legs and alligator bites were exceptionally good as well. Our server, Ms. Augustine was extremely polite and attentive. My husband and I will certainly return.
This was my first but not last visit. The service was phenomenal! The food is flavorful, fresh and deliciousness 👌👌👌Way to go Anthony's steakhouse. Keep up the great work!🤗🤗🤗

Took my hubby here for his birthday dinner, he loves steak. The atmosphere is great, the staff was amazing! I'm not a steak eater, ordered the fried catfish, it was really good. My husband ordered the large tbone (I think, it was a 24oz steak), which he enjoyed immensely! The chocolate cake is awesome!! Warning, 1 piece is big enough to share, unless you want to OD on chocolate 😊
