I love this bakery it's been my Favorite for well over a decade. My son wanted a cake made out of Pan dulce from this our favorite bakery. The easiest and yummies cake ever.
I'm not in South Park very often, but when I was in the area on a Friday night, I decided to pay a visit to Pasteleria y Panaderia La Ideal. Notice that I mentioned that it was night when I visited. This is one of the few bakeries that I have visited that is open until 10pm. They were still putting out fresh pastries at 8pm when I visited. They have a pretty large selection of pastries to choose from. They have cakes, tres leches, cookies, breads, buns, flan, etc. I ended up getting a churro, the molasa(?) which is basically Irish soda bread, a slice of cake with pink frosting and sprinkles, and a savory bread with no filling. The molasa was hot and fresh out of the oven so it was lightly sweet and soft. The slice of cake was delicious as well. The churro was my favorite because it was crisp and also had dulce de leche in it. Actually the bakery was so great that I went out of my way to return the next day. They had more to choose from and I got two more churros, another molasa, a flaky pastry filled with pineapple filling, and a chocolate cupcake with raspberry filling. I'm really glad I visited and will keep it in mind when I want dessert.
Update: we love this place so much we used their conchas as our wedding cake ππ
This place is everything that is good and pure about Seattle. Combine a stop-in to the panaderia with a visit to the fruteria next door for a delightful afternoon. <3
This is the stuff I grew up with in Southern California. Wow... just wow.
We just brought a box AND a bag of various pastries home because we were just that excited to find an authentic Mexican bakery.
Let me tell you, some of this stuff is taking me down memory lane in all the right ways. The pumpkin turnovers are straight out of my childhood.
Very sweet family running the place, you can tell that traditional recipes were passed down and treated respectfully. We'll definitely be going back.
Las mejores conchas y pan dulce de todo el estado.
This is the most authentic Mexican bakery, best quality and price. Iβm super picky with pan dulce but theirs is supreme. They take debit cards now as well.
π²π½ The pan dulce is very delicious and authentic Mexican bread. The only downside is that they don't take debit cards, you have to pay cash only ππππ but the pan dulce is really worth five stars. π― Definitely worth the one hour drive. ππππ
Ok, for now a solid 4 star. If this panaderia was consistent in what they carry they would easily be a 5 star. Everything is made fresh daily which I love. As stated, you never know what's going to be available so you get what you get. I love that they often, not always, might let you in before they actually open to get pan dulce when it's still warm. Not a guarantee but a score if you time it right. They are a true mom and pop shop which I love to support and you should too! Bring some coffee or hot chocolate with you because I almost guarantee you will sample as you drive away.
That pink frosting brings back childhood nostalgia. Can't recommend enough
One of the BEST pastry I've EVER had is in this photo, internationally speaking. Gracias =) sam
The bread is really good. I donβt go so often because of From Everett, but I do like to travel just to get some of the bread.
