Chef King is a hidden gem! To my knowledge it's the best Chinese food option in the larger Greenwood/Phinney Ridge/Ballard area. Very authentic Sichuan, the flavors are on point. Prices are also very reasonable as portion sizes are massive. Each entrée will easily feed 2 people or one person for multiple meals. Nice folks who run this place and some killer lunch specials too. Get the twice cooked pork for a classic intro to Sichuan food, they do it well. Or try other classic crowd-pleasers like Chongqing Spicy Fried Chicken (ask for boneless and don’t eat the dried peppers) or kung pao chicken (authentically a step up from what you’d get at Panda Express). The Sichuan boiled beef or boiled fish are really good here for those who are more adventurous or who have more Sichuan food experience. Protip: many Sichuan dishes are supposed to be fairly oily - have no fear! Mostly it's clean, spicy vegetable oil that won't have you feeling sluggish afterward, even in beef or pork belly dishes.

Very nice place for a casual dine-out. Parking lot is small. The restaurant has about 3 parking spots. But you can park across the street at the Fred Meyer lot. I love that there’s ‘I don’t know’ and ‘whatever’ on the menu. Lol maybe I’ll try them next time.

Let me get the negative out of the way first; it's a bit over priced in my opinion. Now that that's out of the way.. It's very delicious! I got the Orange Chicken and my wife got General Tao's Chicken. We also both got a side of rice(not included which is weird to me). We shared our meals and both liked both very much. The generals wasn't spicy but the flavor was great. The orange chicken was very sweet and tangy but the orange peels were a bit much and not very enjoyable when I accidently ate one...twice. But being able to go back and forth from my sweet to her spicy(ish) dish was nice, as eating a whole serving of just the one thing would be a daunting task that my sophisticated pallet would fail to endure. Anyways, to sum it up, great food made fast, go with someone so you can share or get a dish with veggies or something. I'd totally go back again to try their more authentic dishes that I was told are very good. If your in the area you should check them out if you want some yummy Chinese food!

An underrated Chinese restaurant in Ballard. They serve authentic Chinese food as well as American Chinese food. Recommend the lame beef! The parking lot is tiny but the place was pretty much open on Friday night as they mostly take to-go orders. The place was super cold though and we would appreciate some heat now that it’s October.

Had our first dinner here and everything is good! The spicy boiled fish is authentic but not too spicy. Kid loved the candy duck and green onion pancake. They also have bubble teas and they are legit!

Excellent addition to the greenwood neighbourhood. Cold noodles of course are amazing. Super friendly staff that is more than happy to encourage adventurous westerners. Tried the secret chef special, and it was all the awesome protiens, stir fried, on rice, and did not disappoint. Taramisu is a great finish. Great place for takeout to eat at the Cozy Nut Tavern next door.

Very happy I finally tried this place. You’ll enjoy if you you are looking for Sichuan style food like what you would get in China. Glorious to have well done and not crazy expensive authentic Chinese food here in north Seattle. Will definitely be back.

The food here is really great it's definitely worth a try, my only issue is how expensive it is. I'd definitely come here more if it was more affordable.

I went in here at about 3pm on Wednesday and it was super quiet but I had no issues with that. The man waiting tables was super nice and quick. The food came out super fast and was delicious! I had never gone before but I got Orange Chicken and Crab Rangoon, both were incredible. It might be my new favorite Chinese spot in Seattle.
