Fantastic café with excellent coffee and a wide selection of non-dairy milks. Always friendly service from the staff. The food menu offers a variety of tasty options, any of which can be prepared vegan! The owner locally sources a lot of products and supports live music, putting on some fantastic shows. Overall one of the best cafés in Seattle!

I’ve been to casual coffee places, anarchist cafés, third-wave laboratories, the original European coffeehouses in Ukraine and Hungary, and Latin American coffee colleges, but I’ve never been to a place quite like Café Red.
The owners, Haley and Jesiah, pay attention to every detail; from the hilariously misprinted coffee sack hanging on the wall to the perfect glassware to suit their brew. And what brew it is! They’ve gone all in on a rare and peculiar varietal from the Philippines � for their high-end espresso and it has sweet and savory notes that even afficionados will find something to puzzle over. It’s made lovingly and served with a smile.
It’s obvious that the proprietors and much of the clientele are deep thinkers—the seating area is filled with literature both high- and middle-brow, and the “what’s happening” board has cards and info from all the right local organizations.
Café Red’s presence is emblematic of a broader set of changes to the surrounding neighborhood: property prices are going up, along with new apartment buildings and townhomes, first signs of a broader wave of new development. But there’s a strong sense of community in the space, from the Black Lives Matter mural painted outside to the lively events they host most Thursday and Friday nights. The café is exactly the sort of institution that will strive to include current residents, even while other new entrants (like the slick corporate apartments nearby) fastidiously project the kind of characterless anonymity so welcoming to yuppie gentrifiers.
It’s unlikely that tourists to Seattle will have much occasion to visit Café Red, despite its proximity to the Link Light Rail, but it’s definitely worth a local effort to enshrine as a community core. In time, if the management stays the course, its already shining star can only rise.
The food was good but I didn’t feel like it was worth the cost. The bacon breakfast sandwich was better than the pesto one. The camellia latte was tasty.
The inside is quirky - there’s a tiny bathroom super close to tables. It’s kind of grody. The outside area, however, is nice.
Super excited to learn everything they have is Vegan. So had to go and give them a try. Had the pesto breakfast sandwich and cold brew. It was very yummy.
The staff was friendly, happy and fast! Definitely looking forward to coming back and trying more.

First timer here with my hubby. I just love the atmosphere: very cute and esthetic. The bathroom is so cute 🥰. Drinks are refreshingly good! Breakfast goodies are delicious 🤤. Highly recommended!!!
Staff are always friendly and welcoming. They have a simple menu with items suitable for breakfast or lunch, which I'll need to try soon. They have an exceptional cold brew with notes of chocolate and brewed well.
They also have a rewards program.

This is such a great place to get amazing coffee. My favorite is their canella brew. We travel from near Tacoma whenever we can just for the great service, fantastic vegan menu and excellent service. Their outdoor is great year round (they have heaters for the patio in the cold weather). I tell everyone who is looking for a good cup of coffee about Cafe Red.
I go here from time to time. Their coffees are really good, but a bit overpriced in my opinion, but keep in mind that everything is vegan here. Not as big of a fan of their burritos, but I have yet to try their breakfast sandwiches.
I've had the pleasure of door dashing this restaurant and I'm so happy I could finally eat it fresh. Absolutely delicious. I loved the atmosphere. Great vibes and amazing food. My carnivore brother said it was the best vegan sandwich I ever made him eat.
Such a cute little spot with friendly employees! It's not too often you find a reasonably priced vegan breakfast/brunch place. The pesto breakfast sandwich was delicious, highly recommend!
